Nightmare and Killer now walked into the Kingdom of Life. The sun was high up in the sky. Killer was making sure that Nightmare was okay. It was nice to see that Nightmare was excited to see Dream once again and Killer looked forward to seeing Cross without the poison in his blood.

The cottage was soon located in a beautiful meadow. Nightmare walked other to the door and knocked on it.

"Uncle Quertz?" Nightmare questioned. As Killer then looked around the side of the house. "Are you there?" Nightmare peered through the small window in the door.

Killer smashed one of the windows. "Something's up." Killer stated looking back at Nightmare. "Stay there I'm going to go check out what's going on." Killer instructed, which Nightmare nodded.

Killer hopped through avoiding the broken glass on the floor. The cottage had holes through the walls and the place was over grown with plants. "Something's definitely not right." Killer mumbled. "Quertz?" Killer called out. "Is everything all right?"

Nightmare on the other hand, had just heard someone's hoarse voice calling for help. It sounded slightly familiar, yet different. It was strange. "Kills, come out here a moment." Nightmare called.

Killer hearing this quickly getting out from the house. "What's wrong?" Killer inquired.

Nightmare shook his head a little. "Someone's calling out in the forest. It sounds familiar." He replied, glancing towards it. As if on cue the person again for help. "Hang on." Nightmare looked at Killer.

"That's Cross." Killer said quickly running into a sprint. Nightmare running close behind. "Cross where are you?!" Killer shouted, vaulting other a fallen log.

"Other here!" Cross' yelled, his voice feeling as though it was about to explode. It hurt so bad to talk.

Killer soon saw Cross, Nightmare close behind. Cross was definitely injured, the blood dripping from his wrist from where the strings had fallen and wrapped so tightly around them.

"Jesus." Killer brought out his knife quickly and cut at the stings. "Are you alright?" Killer asked quickly, catching Cross and seating them gently on the ground.

Cross stare was empty as avoided Nightmare's eye contact completely. Avoiding both of their eye contacts as a fact. "I failed. I failed so bad, even though I know I could of done better." Cross muttered, letting tears fall right down his face once again.

Nightmare's eyes widened in alarm. "You mean that..." Nightmare looked other at Cross, who still avoided his gaze. "You were suppose to protect him!" Nightmare growled, eye flashing blue.

"Night, you need to calm down." Killer told him quickly. "We need to get you some help." Killer helped Cross up.

Nightmare shook his head violently. "No. No. I need to go get Dream from that Evil kingdom. Goodness knows what there already going to do with him." Nightmare marched off.

"Night!" Killer yelled. "Lets go home before we decide anything. Be reasonable." Killer stated.

"They have my brother!" Nightmare shouted back.

Cross suddenly stood, up, yanking off his gloves and throwing them to the ground. Drawing his sword. Killer sprang up.

"Cross, be careful. Your sword might as well rip off your wrist for good." Killer stated, grabbing at Cross sword.

Cross moved his hand at a sharp angle, causing his wrist to ache even more than they already were. "I don't care." Cross uttered. "This is all my fault. If my sword rips off my wrist I deserve it. I failed Dream. I failed him."
