Cross just looked at what Killer was doing. He was seeming to be mumbling something, twiddling a pencil in-between his fingers and scribbling something every now and then. Dream was busy replacing the wilted flowers with fresh new ones he had found from a meadow. With Nightmare sat beside him, looking at the map that Killer had highlighted two days ago. They had five more days to get Cross his cure.
Nightmare glanced up at the sky. Grey clouds where now began to cover the blue sky. "We should probably get going soon." Nightmare suggested. "Looks like it's gonna rain."
Killer hummed in agreement. "Right, Cross chuck me an apple real quick."
"Okay." Cross agreed going other to a small sack that was in the back of the carriage. He picked up a red one. "Killer heads up!" He called before throwing the apple.
Killer reacted quickly and brought out a knife, before stabbing the apple quickly. "There." Killer said amused.
"Woah!" Dream's eyes lit up. "I didn't know you were that skilled."
"Wow thanks. Not like you've known me for other twelve years at this point. Since you were a wee baby." Killer said, however giving a small cheeky smile. Killer then went other to his horse and gave it the apple. "Good girl." He patted her side.
Nightmare mused. "No wonder Dream's so stubborn then. He got it from you." Nightmare pointed at Killer extremely dramatic.
"I take full pride for it." Killer said in a bragging tone.
Dream soon got up and ran other to Cross. "I replaced the wilted flowers." He handed the crown back other to Cross.
Cross smiled. "Thank you." Cross put it on his head.
"Aw the flower King has arrived." Dream laughed a little.
Cross also laughed. "I can't even make a flower crown. If anything you're the flower King."
"But I'm already the Prince of Positivity."
"And the best Prince of Positivity there is." Cross scuffed up some of Dream's hair.
Dream stuck out his tongue a little and Cross did the same.
"Every Prince needs a King." Nightmare said in a sing song tone as he walked past the two.
Killer nodded. "So when am I gonna be crowned King of something?" He asked in a joking tone.
Nightmare hummed for a moment, as though he was thinking. "The King of making terrible jokes that somehow make me smile."
"Aw thank you. Has a nice ring to it." Killer continued, causing Nightmare to smile. "Nice to know it's true to." Killer then sat down taking hold of the reins again.
Nightmare sat down next to him. "Are you too going to get in or not?" Nightmare leaned other to see that Dream and Cross were indeed still talking and not going inside.
"We are, don't worry." Dream replied as he hooked his arm with Cross.
Cross and Dream sat down. And the carriage again began moving. Cross looked out of the window as he saw Dream doing the same on the other side of the carriage.
"Do you think it's going to thunder?" Dream wondered looking at the grey clouds as a few drops of rain fell.
Cross thought for a moment. "I'm not too sure." He mumbled unsure. "Hopefully it's just a shower or something."
Dream nodded. "I really hope it doesn't thunder." Dream giggled a little nervously.
"Oh well how come?" Cross wondered getting a bit curious.
Dream looked a little embarrassed, but there was nothing wrong with being afraid of thunder. Cross was also really nice, so of course he wouldn't laugh at him like those other royal guards he use to have... Right?
"I've got a bit of a... fear of thunder..." He mumbled the ending a bit, making it so Cross couldn't understand what he said.
Cross looked at Dream's now extremely embarrassed face. "Can you repeat that for me? I didn't hear what you said." Cross requested.
"I have a fear of thunder." Dream mumbled again.
Now Cross was in one of those awkward situations. Where he was going to have to ask Dream to repeat what he said, again. So he stood up to go and sit next to Dream in order to hear him better, however. As fate would have it the carriage hit other a rock on one of the wheels. Causing the carriage to have a slight hiccup and Cross to lose his footing and trip.
So he ended up falling right in front of Dream, actually he nearly fell on top of Dream, but was able to catch himself.
"Could you please repeat what you said?" Cross repeated again, deciding that it would be much easier to hear Dream like this, as he was only a short distance away from his face. Meaning that there was no way he couldn't hear what Dream would say.
Dream couldn't help but try and avoid eye contact with Cross. "I have a fear of thunder... so I don't want it to thunder." He answered, finally making it clear so Cross could understand.
Cross then sat down next to Dream. "Aw that's cute." Cross commented, putting an arm around Dream seeing as though Dream looked extremely embarrassed. "It's okay, what your scared of." Cross reassured.
"So you're not going to laugh at me?" Dream wondered.
Cross gave him a reassuring look. "Of course not. Why would I laugh at you?" Cross continued.
"My other guards, laughed at me when I said I had a fear of thunder." Dream answered.
"Well they are insensitive. You cannot help having a fear of things." Cross grumbled a little.
Dream felt a lot happier. "Wow you really are different." He beamed up at Cross.
"Why thank you." Cross thanked. Soon reaching inside of his bag then, grabbing abit more chocolate as a rip of thunder went out.
The clouds went a dark grey as the thin line of lightning and the rumble of thunder made themselves known. The rain began whirling and twirling somehow not losing their grace as they continued to collide with the ground and make it dangerously slippery on the mudded pathway.
Dream let out a little yelp at the sudden sound as the flashing light was missed. He pretty much grabbed hold of Cross arm and tried to hide. Cross smiled softly then, as he took off his cape that lay on his shoulder. Wrapping it around Dream.
"It's okay. Its only thunder." Cross reassured. "And if it tries to hurt you, I will fight it."
Dream sat up. "Cross you can't fight thunder, you numpty." Dream continued to bury his head into Cross' chest. "Plus your armours made of metal and you'd get." Thunder rang out. "ELETROCUTED" Dream finished his sentence by screaming in fear, before he again hid from the world thanks to Cross.
Cross then pet Dream's head reassuringly. "It's okay, it's okay Dream." Cross continued reassuringly. As he then brought Dream into more of a hug. "Your safe." He added. When suddenly he got a stinging pain in his hand again. He thought that he could just ignore it, but it ended up getting worse and worse.
"Cross?" Dream questioned, as he heard Cross getting quieter and quieter.
Cross felt himself get a bit fuzzy. "Sorry I don't feel so good." Cross apologised as his eyes suddenly began getting heavier and heavier.
"Cross!"
Darkness.
