24: Two hours missing

Jennie pov
I opened the door to our dorm and was immediately greeted by Kuma. Dropping my bags I took him into my arms and gave him a peck on his head.

"Hello, baby. I missed you."

I put him back onto the ground and walked into the living room, seeing Lisa knocked out on the couch.

She must've come home not long before me, I thought when I saw that she was still wearing her coat.

"Oh, you're back!"

Jisoo's voice made me turn around. She stepped out of the bathroom, her wet hair wrapped in a towel.

She pulled me into a hug and then sat down beside Lisa. "She came home like an hour ago and still hasn't moved an inch."

Hearing her say her name, Lisa peeped open one eye and stretched herself.

"I'm still waiting for Chaeng to bring me the Iced Coffee she had promised me when she left", the ashy-brown haired girl muttered as she closed her one eye again.

"Speaking of Chaeng, where is she?", I asked and took off my coat.

"She said she wanted to go grocery shopping or something like that", Lisa answered. I watched one of her cats jumping on the couch and laying down in her lap.

"But shouldn't she be back by now?", Jisoo asked as her brows drew together, "She's been gone for like forty minutes now and she only wanted to get some rice, bread, and milk."

"And my Iced coffee!" Lisa raised one arm, feeling to need to add that, and just plopped her hand on her cat's head after that.

"Maybe she just got stuck deciding whether or not she should get herself some candy?", I guessed making Lisa let out her high-pitched laugh.

"No, I don't think so. She's been in a bad mood lately and she even skipped dinner sometimes", Jisoo mumbled and stood up.

She walked into her room and came back with her phone in her hand. "Y'know what, I'm just going to call her. Maybe you're right and she really is stuck at the candy aisle."

As she dialed Chaeyoung's number we all waited for the blonde to pick up. But nothing.

Jisoo called her a second time, a third time, but again, nothing.

"Guys, something's not right. I know that she usually doesn't immediately pick up when we call her but this is getting ridiculous."

"Calm down, unnie", I mumbled as I walked into my room, "It's not like this has never happened before. Let's just wait some more."

I closed the door and put the coat into my closet. Then I let myself fall into my pillows, snuggling into my blanket.

I was tired from the long flight and in the need of sleep. I could've slept in the plane but my thoughts about a certain black-haired boy had kept me awake.

My eyes closed as I deeply inhaled the scent of home.
By the time I'd wake up, Chaeyoung would most probably be back home.

Or so I thought.

I was woken up by someone rapidly shaking my shoulder.

"It's been about two hours since Chaeyoung left this apartment and we still haven't heard from her. Fuck, what if something happened to her? What if someone kidnapped her? What if-"

"Okay, okay, enough. Let's calm down first before we jump into conclusions", I interrupted a panicking Jisoo.

I scratched my head and stood up, feeling my sight going black for the split of a second.

"I've already called Yoongi. We're going to look for her", Jisoo explained as she walked past me, putting on her shoes in the hallway.

"What do you mean 'you called Yoongi'? How's he gonna help? And besides wouldn't it be smarter to call our manager? He probably knows what to do in such a situation", I responded.

My gaze drew over to the couch, where Lisa was sitting. Her eyes were glued on her phone and her left leg was bouncing up and down anxiously.

She was waiting for a message from Chaeyoung, I could tell from the look in her eyes.

"And risk getting our freedom even more limited? No thanks, now put on some shoes already, you're coming with me."

I looked at the older girl perplexed. She can't be serious.

"Yoongi said Taehyung and Jimin would tag along. This way we might be finding her quicker."

I put on my shoes and threw on the jacket she handed me. The two of us left the apartment and hurried downstairs, putting on caps and masks.

Lisa would wait at home, in case Chaeyoung would come back while we were away.

"So are we going to search for her as a group of six or what? I don't understand unnie, I just woke up", I whined as we left the apartment.

"First of all we would be five, you mathematician and second of all, no. You and Taehyung are gonna search for her in the closer area. Yoongi and I will go to the grocery store right down the street and Jimin's already looking for her at the grocery store near our company."

Yoongi was waiting for us, leaning against a matt black car. When he saw us he pulled down his mask a bit and waved at us.

"Tae's already waiting for you in the car", he explained as he walked towards us.

Jisoo nodded and pushed me towards it. She took Yoongi's arm and together they left into the direction of the grocery store.

Clearing my throat I opened the car door and got in.

"Hey, princess", Taehyung softly voiced after I closed the door.

It had been some time since I've last heard him call me by that name. Hearing it again made me feel a warm embrace around my heart, a feeling of home.

"Hey", I whispered, leaning back in the seat. Even though I was still tired, my mind was clouded with worry.

The man next to me seemed to noticed as he took my hand, bringing it to his lips. The warmth of them against my cold hand sent shivers down my spine as I looked at him with sleepy eyes.

"It's okay, we're going to find her."

I turned my head into his direction. His face made the corners of my mouth quirk up slightly and I felt my heart calm down a bit.

His warm smile made me feel at peace and it helped me to not lose my cool.

He inched forward until our noses met. "I missed you."

Softly his lips brushed against mine, making me feel all bubbly inside. I, too, had missed him, and feeling him beside me really had been something I had unknowingly longed for.

"Now buckle up and then let's go", Taehyung mumbled as he let go of me, placing one of his hands on the steering wheel while the other one squeezed my own hand.

And so I did. While his eyes were focused on the street, I kept an eye out, searching for my tall blonde friend.
