26: Set him on fire

Chaeyoung pov
The moment I laid down on my bed, my door opened again.

Even though I had my eyes closed I still knew that it was Lisa, who had entered my room. I couldn't tell whether it was her aura or the way she was breathing, that gave it away.

"Chaeyoung-ah, do you know how worried we were?", she asked as she sat down at the end of my bed.

Of course, I knew. I had seen it in their eyes.

And even before I came back home I knew that they would be worried. We were a family and if one of us was missing, the other three weren't the same.

"I'm sorry."

I couldn't say more than those two words. Everything else was stuck in my throat.

I wanted to tell her what happened, tell her what was going on in my mind.
The way I was hurting, the way I wanted to hide myself. But not even the slightest sound came out of my mouth.

It was as if I was put on mute.

"You're hurt, I can see that. And I'm not pressuring you to talk to me about it", she inched closer and rested her hand on my leg, "But if you wanna talk to someone, just know that I am there to listen."

"Jimin", I said, my voice tremulous as if I would break down at any second.

"What? What is with Jimin?"

And as if a ban was lifted of myself I told her everything. From the day I came back from Paris, to the minutes I was sitting on a bench in the nearby park, bawling my eyes out.

Lisa listened. Without interrupting me once she listened until I was finished and exhausted.

"Y'know what?", she muttered with a small smile creeping on her face, "Fuck him. If that's what he thinks you should just fuck him. Set him on fire, forget him."

I looked at her with narrowed eyes. That was easier said than done.

"And the next time we step into Aurora, you're going to make him as jealous as you can. Show him what he's missing out."

I was fucked up.

I was drunk.

Lisa and I were feeling ourselves on the dance floor, grinding on each other.

Everything felt slow as if I was having an out of body experience. It's just me and her, feeling our best as if nothing else mattered or existed.

The lights above our heads were blinking fast, switching from color to color, making me feel dizzy.

The DJ switched the beat and another song came on. We started to lip-sync, started to scream the lyrics on the top of our lungs.

This was my night.
Nothing else mattered. No one else mattered.

Heat surrounded me and I felt a body pressing against mine.

"Hey, Chaeyoung. Long time no see."

The male's voice was screaming in my ear but because of the banging drums, it only reached me as a light whisper.

I turned around and smiled at the tall, handsome man in front of me.

"It has indeed been some time", I screamed back at him, "Jung Jaehyun."

The purple light beamed from person to person and when it landed on his face, it changed for a second.

I couldn't tell whether it was because of the alcohol in my system or because my mind wanted to trick me but for that one split of a second, Jaehyun's face turned into Jimin's.
