THEO and I walked through the crowds as he muttered enthusiastic and friendly greetings to anyone who noticed him. It seemed any and everyone wanted to get the chance to say hello to Theo the Third.
He took me past the foyer and down a long hallway, then we turned into a corridor and found an elevator. In his house.
"Don't worry," Theo said as we got into the elevator and he pressed the down button. "Just because you totally jumped me the last time we were in an elevator together doesn't mean I'm going to assume we're going to do the same this time."
I turned to look at him, gaping while he just had a smug smirk on his face. He was staring straight forward and then met my eyes, tilting his head at me. He reached out and pressed the red button on the elevator which stopped it completely.
"Unless you want me to, of course."
"You're unbelievable," I said.
"Your reaction says that you clearly want to kiss me," Theo teased, stepping forward and trapping me against the wall of the elevator with his arms on both sides of my head. My breathing hitched when he dropped his head to level with mine.
"You're full of shit," I muttered.
"No, I don't think I am. Or you would be breathing normally right now," Theo said, leaning forward and pressing our foreheads together, the tip of his nose brushing mine. One of his hands moved from its spot on the wall to touch my cheek, his thumb touching my bottom lip.
In a swift motion, I pushed Theo away and pressed the red button so the elevator moved again, stopping and opening.
"Would you look at that? We're here," I said, grinning at Theo while he touched his lips and shook his head at me.
I spun around and left the elevator with Theo behind me as I walked into–
"Holy shit," I breathed out, wandering my eyes all over the room we were in. I could settle for looking at just one spot because there was just... so much. "Theodore... This is insane."
The lights turned on at the clap of Theo's hands and the entire room was illuminated brightly. It was huge with high ceilings and windows on one side that looked out to the backyard garden. It was a whole goddamn library. There were oak colored bookshelves that stood tall and there was a loft above that you could get to by climbing up the black spiral staircase. The loft wrapped around the square room and there were velvet armchairs up there. On the main level, there was a large circular velvet couch with an old antique coffee table in the middle of it. I didn't hesitate to walk around the large room, immediately gravitating towards the bookshelves.
"I thought you'd like it," Theo said from behind me.
"Are you absolutely joking?" I said, running my hand along the bookshelves and spinning around to face him. "This isn't real. I'm convinced this isn't real. This library makes me feel like you might actually be a family of vampires."
