She flat out refused
She was in a bad way
He'd seen the blood ooze.
Not sure what was the deal
He could tell Rue tried to heal
But had stopped

Had to keep her warm
He carried her to shelter
From the impending storm
In the cave, he made a fire
He knew Rue would not expire
"Why would you...?
He grumbled and groaned.

He did not want to leave Rue alone.
"I need you to try and rest."
In a grim line, his lips were pressed
"I will find you what you need."
Jasper searched for the plants in the wild
He mixed, them he'd seen Ruby do.
"Come now, this will help you, Rue."
He made a poultice, applied it to her wound
The thunder and lightning boomed.
He reverted back to panther form
His guard over her he resumed.
He watched over her throughout the night.
In the morning Rue was resting on him
Snuggled up tight.

Him and Rue just wild and free.
But all too soon she got up to roam
Now well enough to head back home.
They kept to the grasslands
To keep themselves hidden
For poaching in these lands
Was far from forbidden.
As they got close to town
Jasper went a separate way,
Knowing he had no reason to stay
Back into Tent City
Not a panther but a kitty.

Jujube could see she was still not well.
"Rue, did he find you?"
Rue nodded her head.
