P is for Pirate

The cargo was aboard The Hutch

The men were back at their stations

Tomorrow at noon they'd leave BG town

The deal was done without interruption.

Roy stretched out on the deck

Admiring his bottle of Gut warmer

He was pleased as heck.

At their recent success.

"How about we sweeten the day?"

Ray said aiming with a repeater

He was by the boat's edge

Watching the winds and the waves.

"What do you mean brother?"

Roy shot up at a bolt.

"The guns ought to be fired

While The Hutch needs a baby sister."

The moon peeked out from behind a cloudy veil

Its silvery beams guided the barefoot men.

Two had climbed aboard the Liberty Belle

From the murky depths of the salt water.

They slithered past the mast

Stepped up behind the lookouts

One swift slice, two limp bodies

Slumped never to make a sound.

A low howl sounded at a distance

Ropes flew up and were swiftly bound

More men silently moved to the cabins

To seize the sleeping skeleton crew.

The painted ladies were shocked awake

Cunning as they may be, they heard not a whisper

When the bare chested men locked them

Together in a room without decorum.

A young fellow heard an unwelcome creak

He reached for his six-shooter

But the door burst open and a man jumped on the bed

Choking the living lights out of him.

The young fellow grasped at the fingers

Struggling to loosen the grip

When his six-shooter blew his attacker

Red flooded over the clean white sheet.

Two men grabbed the young fellow

While another knocked him out.

They gagged and dragged him to the deck

He was thrown among the rest.

All the weapons were stacked like hay

Ray stood at the Bridge

The plan had worked without a hiccup

As they had done plenty times before.

As they had done plenty times before

"Anchors up!

We cast off from this spot,

To waters which are deeper

Then we'll play tic-tac-toe with the repeater

And the losers get to sleep with the river creatures!
