Sunset (MysteriousDryad)

Sunset

So much going down 

but stuck at the stables 

tending to the animals 

I longed for something new, 

missing simple luxuries too 

due to work, all I do every single day 

a bore after a while 

yearning for excitement 

Dismissing my thoughts, 

I got back to work

for hours

As the sun went down, 

 it seemed to call me 

to come witness its beauty 

Closing up the stables, 

finishing last-minute tasks, 

Lady was saddled promptly, 

ready to go to Lover's hill to 

see the sunset

My heart wanted me

to tag Brody along, 

nature's painting witnessed 

by him and I both 

But my mind said otherwise, 

he was busy, a deputy's job

is never done, not even town, 

and my mind was right 

I left Knight's stable door open, 

so he could roam the city, 

should he choose,

after giving him an apple, 

I hopped onto Lady and rode to the hill, 

racing against time to catch the sunset 

Making it in just a nick of time

I unhooked my horse's saddle,

sitting it to the side

She laid down on soft grass

and I against her, 

we both witnessed Mother Nature's beauty 

something I don't do often 

It was the small things like this 

that I missed 

and excitement too 

but I hoped everyone was safe,

those that aren't in BG

Silencing my head once again, 

I watched in awe 

as the sunset painted 

 colors on the sky, 

enjoying every second of it
