I awoke to find Jasper by my side
For a second I thought he died.
My eyes filled with tears
I almost cried.
But then I'd seen his chest rise.
I cradle his head in my arms
Wanting to keep him safe from harm.
I could feel the energy in me flow free
Death today would not be his destiny.
Jasper gasped and sputtered
As if he drowned
The dark spirit trapped in the ring
Had tried to pull him down.
His will was strong

"Thank God you're alive,
Ruechari."
I held him close
To grateful to let go.
"We must end this,"
He let me know.
I knew of whom he spoke.
