Walking in the rain,
Slow pace,
Under one umbrella,
Two pairs of feet
Miles apart, those had been
Touching together, once.
It thundered,
Lightening with every heart beat.
He spoke out,
"I cannot continue."
She stood there, still.
The umbrella that witnessed
The first kiss,
Was witnessing the last meet.
She nodded, not wanting
To hurt him, free him.
Centuries of stillness
And silence passed,
He decided to walk away.
He walked ahead,
The umbrella removing
It's shield with every step.
She stood there,
Looking at him in the rain.
The tears that were held back,
Flew down her cheeks,
The rain accompanying. He walked away, out of sight,
Not glancing back even once.
It rained, it thundered,
Lightening, they didn't stop.
It was a week
With the pouring rain non stop.
Had a call,
"She's no more."
The rain stopped,
The sun peeped out.- Zayana Cullen
