We were now all outside gossiping. Sheila was most definitely the best short crust pastry maker this side of hampstead. She had done an amazing job on the food. People had been coming over and congratulating us. 'Hetty! I cant believe youre married now!' Jem said as he came over and hugged me 'I'm so proud of you' he said walking away as he spotted Mr Callander walking towards Jack and I. 'Hetty, Jack. First let me say that ceremony was beautiful. And second as a wedding present, I'm giving you both the week off. I thought that you might like to go and visit Ida' s grave. I know it will be hard but you might find comfort in taking Jack' Mr Callander said to us. 'Thank you Mr Callander, Sir. That would be amazing' I said gratefully.
Later that evening, me and Jack got settled in the groundsman cottage. We moved my stuff into the cottage and packed ready to go to Bignor tomorrow. I couldn't believe that this was our home now and that this was the first night before the rest of our lives that we would lie together.
