That's right, you guessed it! My bd has already revealed our marching band show theme for next year, and let's just say, I'm excited!!
It's title: If Only..................................................
(It doesn't have that many ellipses, I just think it makes it sound more mysterious)
Anyway, it basically is the Wizard of Oz, but from the scarecrow's perspective. (On the zoom, one of the two stooges continued to ask if he could be Dorothy XD)
Anyway, the first movement is made up of a few contemporary songs: Exit Music for a Film by Radio Head, Breathe by Pink Floyd, and Time by Pink Floyd. I think it has a Tenor Sax solo, I'm not sure. (I kind of hope it does, I know Ahron wants to be DM so bad, but he can't because he is the only tenor upper class man. I just hope he gets a solo instead)
The second movement is a cool arrangement of If I Only Had a Brain from the Wizard of Oz. Basically, it starts with a trombone duet (I can see one of the stooges and Anna getting it) Then, it's taken over by a beautiful Mello/trumpet duet. You guessed it! I want that solo REEEEEALLY bad (on top of wanting to be section leader). I know for a fact that the Mello section leader from last year is gonna get it. She is really talented.
AAAANd the last movement: Exit Music for a Film Reprise. It's not my favorite part, but it definitely has a lot of closer-energy.
Let's just say, I'm definitely excited for next year!
