~Part two - A better life for me~
11th of May 1779
I stared out the window like usual waiting for that dammed pigeon Charles to show up and for a letter to finally arrive. Of course, even after two years, I'd still had hope that Samuel and Ella would respond. Maybe even if it had been a while. I sighed and scribbled on a piece of paper drawing the view.
"Mama!" little hand grabbed my dress. I looked down and saw Frederick wide-eyed. "What wrong dear?" I asked ruffling his h/c hair. "Mama!" He smiled. I laughed and hugged him.
"Da da dat da da dat da day ya da." I could hear George singing to Matilda. He was holding her and humming a tune. I smiled and put down my quill, "Come on Frederick let's go and see daddy." Frederick followed me stumbling towards George.
"Vati!" Frederick ran up to George and hugged him. "Ah, Hallo mein Sohn." George smiled hugging his two children tightly. George had been a very proud father ever since Frederick was born, you could say he thought we were a perfect family. "Y/N come here too," he asked smiling. I obliged and joined the group hug.
To say that I was unhappy wasn't true of course, as I had a family. But of course, I wanted more to my life, I wanted some sort of purpose in life. But I couldn't leave Frederick and Matilda, they needed me to be a there mother. Then there was George. For the past few years, I have lived with him. Did I like it? Well, he surely is a caring person, but he never understands that this isn't the life I wanted.
"I love you all so much and I wish I could spend the whole day like this." George hugged tighter and then let us go. Matilda and Frederick giggled as George laid them down on the bed. "But sadly I have my own boring duties to fulfil. But I'll be back!"
He smiled and exited the room blowing me a kiss. I smiled and looked over to Frederick and Matilda they both were rolling around on the bed giggling. Of course, they were only one and two years old so there was not much they had to do. I laughed to myself and made my way to my desk.
~George's pov~
I closed the door behind me and made my way to my study. I smiled to myself as I thought about my family, I loved them very much and wanted to spend every second with them.
But as King I couldn't, I had other responsibilities. Luckily Y/N looked after them and gave them love and care. She was a great mother and a wonderful wife just as I expected. In fact, in the past two years we've been together she's really grown into an even more wonderful person.
My family keeps me happy, even with this war going on I had my family. They would always be my first priority.
I walked down the stairs and through the illuminated halls. I sighed to myself and opened the study door, a stack of papers and books was arranged on the desk and pieces of paper were scattered across the floor. I picked up a piece and scrunched it up. I sighed and sat in the chair, picking up the frayed quill.
~Third person pov~
Y/N softly hummed a little tune. She softly rubbed Matilda's forehead letting her softly go to sleep.
Frederick, on the other hand, was waiting for his father. He always refused to sleep until George came back. "Frederick, daddy is working late tonight. You need to go to bed." Y/N lectured him. Fredrick threw off his blanket and pouted. "No." he stubbornly replied.
Y/N sighed and rubbed her temple. "Y/N!" Jane suddenly walked in. Y/N turned to her, "What's wrong Jane?" she asked. Jane smiled and held up an envelope. "A letter from the Seabury's" Y/N's eyes lit up and snatched the letter.
"Mommy, what's a Seaberry?" Frederick asked tiredly. Y/N smiled opening the letter, "Don't worry Fredrick it's nothing." Frederick frowned and laid back down.
Y/N frantically opened the letter and began to read it.
Dear, Y/N L/N
I'm terribly sorry for replying so late, but Ella and I were caught up with a few things along the way the prevented us from getting your letter, which we only received in March.
I read your letter and immediately sent a friend of mine to retrieve you, of course, that is if you want to still leave. I understand that you now have two children with George, named Frederick and Matilda. My friend, Charles Lee is capable of taking them as well but it will risk your escape.
Ella and I also would like to tell you that Ella gave birth to our son recently. William Seabury. I am terribly sorry that we cannot rescue you ourselves, as it is too dangerous for me to return to England.
Anyway, Charles will be there around the 13th of May. He will be waiting in the garden we used to play tag in. I hope this letter reaches you in time and that you are safe.
Sincerely, Samuel Seabury.
Y/N's eyes widened with hope and she smiled ever so joyfully. She then heard a knock on the door. Y/N quickly shoved the letter under the bed and laid down. George walked in tiredly and smiled hugging Y/N. Y/N smiled and hugged George back.
"I love you."
