~Y/N's pov~
I saw my small study by myself, staring at the piece of paper in front of me. It was early and yet I felt as if I had already wasted the day.
See, I wanted to feel important and not just her because George wants me. And so I've gone back to my old job as a secretary. Everything was almost as it was before, except that I was married to George and I that had two children with him.
But apart from that, it was peaceful. Maybe not as I planned life to be, but at least I wasn't as alone. I had Frederick and Matilda to keep me company. And even if I still don't love George, putting up with him might be easier.
I chuckled to myself and continued staring at the piece of paper on my desk. "Taxes..." I mumbled and rolled my eyes pulling a book from a bookcase. I opened it and scanned the pages, almost falling asleep.
"Hello, Y- I mean Your Majesty." My head turned tiredly and the door opened to a half disguised Ella. "El, What are you doing here?" I asked nervously. She grinned and sat down the tray and rested herself on the couch. "Keeping you company I guess. Samuel has to do some other stuff so I guess I'm here with you." She chuckled. I furrowed my brow slightly and went back to writing.
"Whatcha doing?" She moved next to me and glared at the piece of paper. "Taxes," I replied numbly. Ella grinned and rested her arms on my shoulders. "George is such a bad husband. I mean he's asleep while he's making you do all of his work." She dramatically stated. I scoffed playfully and turned to her, "Surprisingly no, I actually want to do this. I mean if George saw me doing all this work he'd make me go back to bed." I chuckled.
Ella gave me a blank look, "You really confuse me Y/N. Anyway I have to go, Samuel and I are organising our escape." she explained. I smiled and she spun around. "Oh and meet me at the Garden tomorrow, we'll give you the plan and you can see if it suits your style." she waved her finger around. I chuckled and she lifted her tray walking out.
I smiled once more but deep down inside I was worried George would find out about them. Because if that happened I was afraid of what he was willing to do.
~George's pov~
My eyes opened slightly and I moved my arms towards me, motioning to hug Y/N. But instead of feeling her body, I felt nothing. My eyes soon opened fully and I sat up searching for her.
My heart dropped and my breath started to become faster. I quickly got out of bed and raced to the door. I hurriedly opened the door and started to bolt down to the most possible place she could be.
My legs sprinted at a fast pace. Faster than I had ever done. I just needed to know that Y/N was still here. I ran all the way to Frederick's room and opened the door to see Frederick and Matilda playing on their bed. I drew a breath of relief and walked in smiling. "Morning my little Prince and Princess." I greeted them and both of their gazes directed to me.
Y/N wouldn't leave our children, would she?
"Hi, daddy." Matilda smiled back and walked towards me. I laughed slightly and looked at Frederick who was frowning slightly. "Frederick do you know where your mother is?" I questioned him. Fredrick's cold looking eyes glared at me. "Why should I tell you." I pouted and turned around. I chuckled slightly and moved next to him, holding Matilda close to me. "Because I'm your dad," I argued back. Frederick looked at me and held in his breath.
I patted his wavy h/c hair and he bowed his head slightly. "Mommy is in her office." I giggled slightly and sat up. "I better go talk to your mother then." Frederick looked away stubbornly and I started to exit the room. I reached for the door handle but felt something tug on my sleeve.
"Don't hurt Mommy, Daddy." I looked down at saw Frederick's worried eyes and I smiled softly. "Don't worry, I won't hurt her." Frederick smiled slightly and hugged me, "Thank you, Daddy." I smiled with joy and he pulled away letting me go off. I waved him and Matilda goodbye and started walking to Y/N's study.
Now with more hope that Y/N was still here, I took my time. I walked at a relatively normal pace than before, proudly walking down the hall. Frederick had finally called me his father, for real this time. I smiled to myself and hummed, closing my eyes slightly. I then felt someone hit against me slightly. I looked and saw one of the maids half terrified and holding a tray in her hands. "S-Sorry Your Majesty," she mumbled and quickly paced away.
For some reason, she looked so familiar. I brushed it off and walked into Y/N's study. "Morning Y/N," I called out and saw her tiredly turn to me. I walked up to her and wrapped my arms around her. "You know Y/N, you don't have to do all of this." I urged her. Y/N smiled slightly holding my hand, "It's fine, I just want to seem useful, you know." she explained. I grinned again and rested my head on her shoulder. "You've always been useful Y/N, without you I don't know where I'd be," I remarked. Y/N turned back to her work and sighed. "You'd probably be happier." she trailed off.
I hugged her again and stood upright. "I'll be downstairs eating breakfast with Frederick and Matilda. You can come down when you want." I smiled. Y/N smiled slightly and I walked away making one more smile at her. I walked out and sighed in relief, leaning against the door.
My eyes opened and I saw something odd. The servant who I had noticed earlier was with another person who I knew too well. The maid and servant shuffled into a room quietly not knowing that my eyes were watching them. Y/N may have not left today. But something tells me I was right. I knew exactly who those servants were and it shook me to the bone.
Samuel and Ella, you're not taking away my happiness again.
