~Y/N's pov~
I stared around the room, still and laying down. I never felt comfortable in George's bed and now was no different. I turned my head to the right and looked at him sleeping peacefully. I stared at him and watched him breathing.
The room was silent and I was left to my own devices watching George. Not because I particularly cared for him. But because it was all I could do. George's eyes soon opened and he smiled tiredly. "Morning Y/N" I smiled brightly like a gun was being pointed to my head. George grinned happily and he hugged me, "I'm happy you're okay Y/N, I know you didn't want to be here but I really do love you." He grinned.
I smiled awkwardly again and let him cuddle me. "Mommy!!!" I flinched slightly and my gaze fixated to the door. Frederick and Matilda ran up to me smiling. I quickly grinned back and they sat in front of me excitedly. "Morning my precious cinnamon rolls." I giggled and pulled away from George so I could hug them.
Matilda pulled away and stood up, "Look at this new dress Daddy got me!" She joyfully announced. I smiled at her and George sat up as well pulling me next to him. "I'm glad to have a wonderful family like you all." He grinned. I awkwardly nodded and Frederick grinned, "That's nice Mr George-" I glared at Frederick and he stopped and cuddled me. George laughed and ruffled Frederick's hair.
"Come on now, let's go downstairs." George cheered. Frederick stopped cuddling me and grabbed my hand. I pulled my blanket off, smiling in joy at Frederick and Matilda. I stood up and George rested his hand on my shoulder to lead us down.
His face was full of joy and so was Frederick and Matilda. I grinned, slightly and we began to make our way downstairs. Frederick excitedly pointed his fingers at the paintings and Matilda clung onto George.
A slight feeling of contentment hit me and a small smile formed on my face as we walked to the dining area.
Maybe I didn't have everything I wanted, but at least I had Frederick and Matilda. The two people keeping me sane and alive.
~Later that Day~
The open and large room was extravagantly ornate. The four of us were huddled together on a couch, George and I to the sides while Frederick and Matilda were in the middle. It was just after breakfast and we were all reading a simple children book. Everything was peaceful and only Frederick and Matilda's soft voices we're heard.
They both read quite fluently and only needed George's help occasionally. I was proud that my children were smart but more proud that they could keep themselves happy. Because they had been through a lot, from thinking there father was dead to being shipped over to a foreign country. I hate to admit it but my children were honestly more sensible than me.
But now everything was normal just how I liked it. The three of us had been in this castle for a while now and things were starting to feel as they were when I left.
But I wasn't the same quiet and timid Y/N. I knew that I'd have to stand up for myself and for Frederick and Matilda.
I looked at Frederick and Matilda and smiled again. Not saying a word. George, on the other hand, was rambling alongside them and was cheerfully giggling. But I tried to ignore him, he was the only reason I didn't want to be here. I quickly glanced away and my head turned to one of the servants who was standing uncomfortably close to the couch.
"Can I help you?" I asked looking confused. The woman budged slightly and handed me a note. I took it from her hands and she quickly shuffled away. I furrowed my brow slightly and glanced back at George who was occupied with Frederick and Matilda.
I unfolded the note and in clear black ink, something was written.
"Meet me at the garden we used to play in. 7:00pm. Don't be late."
~Ella's pov~
I quickly scurried away from Y/N and walked out of the room nonchalantly. Samuel was leaning against the wall next to the door and I gave him a signal. He looked at y/N quickly and he shuffled out with me. I walked awkwardly all the way to the gate, trying not to look the other servants in the eyes. Samuel and I soon arrived at the gate and smiled at the guard.
"See you two tomorrow." he smiled and opened the gate. I grinned back and we moved out onto the streets. "So did she get it?" Samuel nudged me. I nodded and we strolled around heading back to Ben's place. "How do you think Benjamin went with William?" I giggled. Samuel smirked slightly, "Most likely horribly, I mean you should have seen him looking after my little cousin May." He chuckled. I grinned at his remark and we reached the little cottage.
"Hello?" Samuel knocked. A muffled burst of laughter followed and I looked at Samuel with a weird look on my face. Samuel shrugged and the door opened to Benjamin. His smile was oddly suspicious and his hair was unkempt. Along with the fact he was covered in splotches of paint. Samuel and I looked at him confused and he chuckled slightly. "You're quite early..." Samuel glared at him and we walked inside. Ben quickly closed the door and ran in front of us. "Wait!" he cried out, but Samuel ignored and walked into the kitchen. He paused in shock and I followed behind him to see why he was gaping.
The small wooden table was almost covered in paint, William was sitting on one of the chairs and he was also covered in the paint like Ben. Horrified I walked towards Will, kneeling down and tried to wipe off some of the paint. "What happened William?" Will giggled and he smiled, "Mr Ben and Oliver helped me paint and then we played with the paint!" he exclaimed excitedly.
I smiled awkwardly and looked to see a fazed Oliver, with paint smothered on his face. "Your kid scares me." he blankly stated. I grinned and turned to Samuel and Ben.
Ben grinned awkwardly and smiled, "So how was your date?" I stood up and smiled over at Ben.
"Great."
