~George's pov~
My eyes fluttered open and I looked to see Y/N gone. I sat up and scanned the room. It was odd for her to be up earlier, but maybe she was playing with the kids. I quickly got up and walked outside. The palace was deathly quiet, it was a Sunday so not many people were working. I walked along the desolate halls and made my way to Frederick and Matilda's bedroom. It was a long walk but I eventually arrived at the door. I wanted to surprise them, so I stayed quiet.
I slowly grabbed the door knob, slightly turning it, "Good Morning!" I exclaimed. But when I looked around I saw the room was empty. I quickly searched the room but found nothing.
Soon my anxiety kicked in, I desperately panicked and ran down stairs to the hall. My heart racing as I frantically searched each room. Then I ran into some guards, they saw my look of distress, "Your Majesty what is wrong." one of them asked. I froze and regained my heart beat, "Y/N and my children are missing, Tell every guard to search for them." I ordered them. The guards saluted and they all ran off in different directions. I sighed slightly, my heart ached at the thought of my family being gone. Thoughts quickly raced through my mind and paranoia soon circulated my mind.
In pure fear I ran back up to my bedroom, hoping that Y/N would be there. I ran up he stairs passing the guards and rushing. I desperately hoped that they'd be there and I clung onto the thought that they werw there. Soon I reached the door. My hand was shaking in fear as I reached for the door handle. My breath shaked and I grabbed the cold metal.
The door opened and I was greeted with an empty room. My eyes widened with fear and I rushed into the room frantically searching for something to tell me they were alright. I pulled out drawers and checked inside my closet but nothing was to be seen. My mind raced for possible hiding spots and under the bed popped in my mind.
I ran over to my bed and saw a single piece of paper. I quickly grabbed it, and began to read it.
Dear, Y/N L/N
I'm terribly sorry for replying so late, but Ella and I were caught up with a few things along the way the prevented us from getting your letter, which we only received in March.
I read your letter and immediately sent a friend of mine to retrieve you, of course that is if you want to still leave. I understand that you now have two children with George, named Frederick and Matilda. My friend, Charles Lee is capable of taking them as well but it will risk your escape.
Ella and I also would like to tell you that Ella gave birth to our son recently. William Seabury. I am terribly sorry that we cannot rescue you ourselves, as it is too dangerous for me to return to England.
Anyway, Charles will be there around the 13th of May. He will be waiting in the garden we used to play tag in. I hope this letter reaches you in time and that you are safe.
Sincerely, Samuel Seabury.
I dropped the letter and collapsed. Tears began to spring in my eyes. I didn't want to believe Y/N was gone. I held my heart and cried in pain. I scrunched up the letter and stood up. I brushed away my tears that were still falling and walked out the door. One of my courtiers ran up to me, "Your Majesty what's wrong? He panicked. I looked down at him.
"Search every ship heading to America, The Queen is missing."
~Y/N's pov~
"Ok so your name is Mary Smith, I'm your husband Alfred Smith and Fredrick and Matilda are our children, James and Elizabeth." Charles explained handing me some paper. I nodded, "Ok darling~" I teased. Charles scoffed and started to head to the dock.
Once we arrived a covered my head slightly with a hat to disguise myself. The port was busy and people were frantically running around. I clung onto Charles and while holding Matilda.
"Sure is busy." Charles whispered. "Yeah it is." I replied. "Do you think George has found out yet?" he asked. I sighed, "Most likely, that's why we probably should hurry up before news hits." I mumbled. Charles nodded and we headed to for the ship.
"There it is!" he said pointing out at a ship. We walked along and joined the line. "Mama?" Frederick had awoken, shocking Charles. I quickly moved towards Charles and smiled. "Mama? where are we." he asked. "Where just going for a little trip." I whispered. Frederick smiled and closed back his eyes. I sighed in relief and we moved forward in line. To my luck Matilda hadn't woken up.
Soon the line grew short and only a few people were left in line. "Names please." the man spoke. "Alfred Smith and my wife Mary Smith." Charles smiled giving him the papers. The man snatched the papers, "Travelling with kids are we." the man smiled.
Charles nodded, "Yeah, I got promoted and wanted to bring the kids along." The man smiled and handed the papers back. "Well Mr Smith good luck to you. Let's hope we win this war." I smiled and the man let us pass. I sighed in relief as we stepped onto the boat. "Do you think he suspected us?" Charles whispered. "Nah." I smirked. Charles laughed and we walked up the plank. I excitedly jumped ahead and layed my foot on the deck.
One more step to freedom.
