Lindsey had come out to Arizona on a whim simply because he was trying to find Stevie and see his daughter, therefore he wasn't even prepared for what was to come at all. He didn't know that she would want to just move forward when they had spent a good ten months apart.
The next few hours that would have passed were quick; one thing just kept happening after another. First Barbara and Jess came home and they greeted Lindsey with much respect while he asked of Jess' well being, then they were having dinner together almost like nothing happened within the ten months, then later Stevie was showing him how to give the baby a bath and he found comfort in everything she was teaching him to do, but at the same time---he felt lost within it all. It almost felt like a facade, like a dream of reality, but it became much more clear when he realized he had to go and get clothes because his trip wasn't at all planned.
"So, where are you staying?" she asked, knowing he was supposed to be getting a new house. She wrapped the baby up in her blanket and she kind of swayed with her, trying to get her heavy eyed for the night.
With Lindsey there, the baby took a brief nap---but something about the man had her enticed so she stayed up far longer than she would on a normal basis. Of course, Lindsey couldn't get enough of her and Stevie found it very sweet because in her head, she figured that Rosemary could feel the connection even if her baby brain wasn't aware.
"Well, mostly I've been on the road, but between that---staying at a hotel," he shrugged. "My house is on the market, but I'm still trying to figure myself out."
She nodded lightly and she put her attention back down. "Once Christmas is over with and all that, I was planning on coming home. I miss my apartment and quite frankly, I miss being with my friends. I haven't really contacted anybody in a while. Like you said I would, I became a little hermit."
He kind of chuckled, finding it amusing how she remembered almost everything he'd ever said or done, but he found it sweet because he did the same---at least the most profound things stuck to his mind
"Christmas is in like a week, would you want to maybe stay here with us? That way you could be here with her," she gestured a little. "Then we can head home---if that's what you want."
"Well... I do have some business to take care of. Mick happened to mention something about another album so that means me and Christine will be brainstorming the theme," he shrugged. "As much as I do want to be here with the both of you," he was sure to mention, "I also don't want to intrude."
"I really don't think my parents would mind. Chris and Lori are supposed to come out here this coming weekend. Barbara and Jess are really happy to see you doing well and..." she trailed, trying to think of another excuse; one bigger than her just saying that she wanted him there. "Might even marry you if you stayed," she smirked lastly.
He rolled his eyes playfully only because he knew that had to be a joke---marriage just wasn't her thing in his book. "Anyway, what did you tell your parents about us? They seemed far too happy to see me after all the shit we pulled."
"I told them you were working otherwise you would have come when Jess had his stroke. But then I told them I was angry at you over something stupid."
"You didn't tell them anything?"
"No, Lindsey, they love you way too much. Since day one, my mother has been telling me to hold onto you because she liked you so much and we barely knew each other. When they asked, I was at a point already that I didn't care what happened and I wasn't going to tell them something as upsetting as you bringing your ex to our room. That's all that happened. So, I told them I started it and we decided to break for a while."
