As the last hours of the small trip were coming to and end, Lindsey and Stevie actually spent it closer than they had been.
Through the ride there, he kept her close and they did talk a lot---but since they got to Arizona, the closest they had been was sleeping next to each other in bed. They hadn't kissed or hugged each other in front of anybody, however now, sitting within the whole family, they were clutched together comfortably and every once in a while they would share a simple peck on the lips and he would play with her blonde strands while she stared up at his features and touch the side of his face with her fingertips.
And while they were in their own entranced world, Lori had to smirk to herself because she knew full and well that her friend was falling for him hard---even if she put up a fight at the beginning and she couldn't wait to tell Robin all about it.
Originally, Lori had asked Robin if she wanted to come only because Barbara and Jess loved her like a daughter as well since she and Stevie were so close, but she had plans for the weekend with her husband, Kim.
"Will you guys visit us more often when you have down time?" Barbara asked as she settled in between her two children on the couch.
"We will, mom, yes," Stevie nodded as she sat up, actually pulling away from resting on Lindsey for the first time since they had gotten home and had breakfast. "We'll visit as often as possible. Quite frankly, since the wedding is soon---we'll be here a lot."
"And you said January?" the mother asked her son.
"Yeah. January fifteenth and that's a Sunday," Chris assured. "We want this small venue we saw in Phoenix---it's outdoor and really nice."
Nodding, "We can have a really nice wedding put together by that time. Just give me the address and and we'll set it all up for you, by the time you come back," she mentioned. "Will you girls go dress shopping meantime?" she then looked at Lori as she jolted her daughter's hand in her own.
"Yeah, we are. That's for when we get home---" the redhead stated. "I was planning on it this week---you and Robin have to find something to wear."
"Sounds good," the blonde then added.
"This is going to be so much fun," Barbara beamed once more.
Chris kind of chuckled.
"Anyway, what time are you guys leaving?" she then asked.
"About seven," Chris replied. "It's Sunday, so the traffic might be a little crazy, but we wanna get there before Monday. The girls have school and I have to get up early for work," he leaned back in the couch, releasing his hand from his mother's.
"Okay," she nodded. "There's some stuff in my sewing room that I want you guys to take. I've had a bunch of blankets and different things I've made and I want you guys to finally take them home."
Laughing, "I'll be right back," she patted Lindsey's knee before getting up to follow her mother.
"Okay," he nodded and kind of sat foward, rubbing his hands together.
"So..." Lori arched a brow at Lindsey.
Not knowing who she was talking to, he lifted his head just to be alert. "So, what?" he asked when they made eye contact.
"You and Stevie look good... Is that going anywhere?"
"I don't know," he kind of chuckled.
"Don't play innocent, I saw you guys making out earlier."
"That's not embarrassing," as he let his head drop. Bringing it back up, "We just have a lot more to understand about each other before we go crazy."
