~ Two Years Later ~
"Sweetheart, please put your shoes on for me," Stevie asked as nicely as she could for the third time thus far.
"No!" Rosemary's statement came out more clear than anything she had ever said. She then tucked her little two and a half year old feet under herself to keep her mother from getting to them.
That ultimately made the blonde laugh a little, but she knew she had to be serious. "Rose, come on, my love, or I'm gonna tell daddy..." she lingered, knowing that probably wouldn't help because Lindsey was quite docile.
"I wan' daddy," she furrowed her brows as she snatched the little Mary Janes and flew past her mother to get to her dad first.
"Y'know, gotta love it... I told her she had to be daddy's little girl at four months old---who knew she'd take it literally," she let her hands slam down on her thighs as she pushed herself up from off the ground and let off a breath of air.
They were getting ready to host a party; a listening party for the Tango in the Night album that had just been released by Fleetwood Mac on April thirteenth, nineteen-eighty-seven. The party was also in honor of the band since they were about to tour after nearly two years of recording. An all around frustrating time, because just as things had been falling into place for the Buckingham-Nicks Manor---in nineteen-eighty-five, Mick was still adamant on recording the new album in which he had been badgering for since the end of nineteen-eighty-four so, they started in November of the next year instead. Lindsey was then able to take the year off to be a father while Stevie started getting ready to become a professor at her school and now she was thriving on what she did since she had also graduated. She was overall content with everything she had accomplished because she was helping others while also done with her own schooling for the time being, but there were outside courses she was looking to take later on because she enjoyed learning.
Only half ready; hair and makeup done, though in a black robe, Stevie started roaming after her child, but as soon as she met the staircase, the girl was already gone and she could hear her little chattering voice. She then shook her head and made her way to the studio that was just a few steps down another doorway from the living room. Pushing open the door, she peeked in to see the girl on her father's knee as strapped her shoes onto her little feet.
"You gotta stop giving your mama a hard time, kiddo," Lindsey scolded though not harsh at all, but there was a hint of exhaustion behind his voice. "You have to listen to your mom, Rose."
"I wan' you do it," she explained, her voice going a little high pitch at the end of her sentence since there was wonder in what was wrong.
"Next time you tell me you want daddy to do it," Stevie stepped in and she dropped to her knees to look up at the girl. "You don't say no, that's not nice."
She nodded her little head and slid off her father's lap to hug her mother. "Sorwy," she mumbled.
"It's okay, go on," she patted her hip and kind of indicated for her to run along. Right after, she plastered a hand to Lindsey's knee and she pushed herself off the floor once again, but she let off a small groan with a laugh following it.
"Are you good?" he chuckled, stabilizing her.
"Yeah, I'm alright, my back has been hurting me a lot lately and she makes me work hard," she dusted it off as she turned.
"So, it that what you're wearing?" he asked, just messing with her.
"You don't even know how bad I wish I could wear my robe for the night," she chuckled. "I'm tired now---you try getting that girl dressed up---she hates clothes. She's so sensitive to fabric on her skin and she wants to rip it all off. All that time we let her roam around in a diaper---not the best decision."
