Part 6: Robbers

(The next morning)
"Candy wake up! The mechanic is here to fix the tire. They will be done any minute, Candy! Candy..."
"Hmm, okay. Tell me when they're done." I say. (Goes back to sleep)
"Okay, I'm going to check on them," Ella says.

(15 mins later)
"Candy, they are done, we can go home now... Candy! Candy let's go! Why are you so tired?"
"Huh, hmm, nothing." (Opens eyes) "I'm up, let's go home," I say. I finally get up and walk into the bathroom. Then I notice my feet are dirty. I remembered back to last night. That guy was named Leo. We ran from people. He brought me back.
"Woah that was a crazy night." I thought. I get into the tub and rinse my feet.

"Candy I got everything ready and loaded. Let's go home now." Ella shouted, from outside.
"Yeah, okay, give me a minute," I shouted back. I finally get out of the bathroom and go outside. I head down the stairs.
I stretch my body and yawn loudly beside the car.
"Candy, you're a girl, act like a lady." Ella then says.
"It's okay, It's not like I want to impress someone!" (Brain freeze) "oh no! What if he sees me."
I then go into the car and wait, while Ella goes and gets us checked out. While waiting, I doze off and I think of him. How he held my arm and we ran from those people.
(Ella comes in the car)
"Candy... should we... blah blah? Candy! Candy...?"
"Yeah?" I say.
"What are you thinking of?" Ella asks.
"Huh.... are we gonna go home?" I say.
"Yeah. Let's go home!" She says starting the car.

(On the road)
"Seems like we're running out of gas, we can also take a bathroom break, just a mile ahead," Ella says.
"I need to use the bathroom anyway," I say.
We get to the gas station. I run towards the bathroom. I come out and it is a bright, beautiful day. The sky is cloudless. The sky is very blue. I walk back to the car. Before I could get in Ella asks me to go buy drinks. She also states that she will go park on the side. She hands me cash.
I walk into the store. (Ding dong)
the store is cool compared to the heat outside. I see that the drinks are at the back of the store, so I walk there. I grab a water bottle and debated if I should get coke or sprite.
(Ding dong)
"Give me all the money! Hurry up! Or I'll shoot you." I hear loudly behind me.
I turn around. To see what on earth is going on. There are two guys, covered up by masks. (Boom)
"hurry up!" They shout.
I get scared and fall to the floor. Other than me, there is a kid and she looks scared. I want to crawl over to her but before I could. The robbers notice me.
"Go check those people, make sure they aren't calling the police!" One says.
"Hey! Where do you think you're going!" The other says.
He is speaking to me, I didn't dare to look up. He has a gun and is waving it around. He grabs my hair and pulls at me to look at him.
"I'm speaking to you!" He then says.
"Let go of me!" I say shouting.
"You're feisty. I like that."
"Let go of me!" I push him away and he hit the shelves and he started to bleed a little.
"You like it rough, why didn't you say so?" He replied. He swings his hand to slap me, but his buddy comes over and stops him.
"Why are you hurting her, leave her alone. We're here for the money." His buddy says.
I lift my head, and I get a glimpse of the buddy that "saved me." All I could see were his eyes. They were gentle.

"Bro the cops are here! Let's go."
They grab the bag full of money and run out of the store.
(They run off)
The little girl comes over to ask if I am okay. "I'm fine," I say smiling.
I head out of the store and walk towards the car. At this point, they are many police cars everywhere.

"Candy, are you alright? I was so worried!" Ella comes running towards me.
" I'm fine, sis. Let's go, I'm tired." I say.
"Candy I think the police would like to ask you some questions first." Ella states.

(An officer comes over)
"Miss, can you describe the robbers?" The officer asks.
"They sounded young, they seemed young," I say. "There were two guys, I couldn't see their faces. They used masks to cover their faces. They had guns too." I say to continue. "I can't remember anything else." I then say.
"Thanks miss, if you recall anything, please let us know." The officer says.

I look at Ella, she could read me, Ella noticed that I was not myself.
"We will tell you if we find out or recall anything. Thank you, officer... we have to get home, so please excuse us." She said turning me around towards the car. "Candy let's go."

I get in the car and we drove off. Driving off I see a man walking past our car. I thought he looked very familiar, I couldn't process anything, so I didn't think about it. I roll down the window, I let the wind blow on my face.

"Go ahead and sleep, Candy. I'll wake you up when we're home."Ella says worriedly.
She passes me a blanket. I put the blanket over my head and tried to sleep.
