Part 34: rehearsal

Knock knock
I get up from my bed and open the room. It's Leo and Mera.
"Come in," I say.
They come in. Mera sits on Ella's bed while Leo sits next to me on my bed. Mera brought a first aid kit.
"Leo asks me to come and check on you," Mera says.
"You didn't have to, you're probably very busy with preparation," I say
"No, I'm a doctor. Let me see your wounds," she says.
I hand her both of my hands. She takes off my bandages from my wrist and looks at them. My wrists are purple and green.
"Candy... does it hurt? It's really bruised... also your wrists are really tiny." She adds.
"It hurts, but I'm okay," I say smiling.
"You still have time to smile," Leo then says.
"Leo has wounds too," I say.
Mera looks at Leo and spots where his bruises are at.
"Give me your hand." She then says.
She looks at his hand and looks at both of us. She then laughs.
"You guys are perfect for each other." She says at last.
I don't disagree and just smile. I look at Leo and he's smiling also.
"Okay, let me fix your wounds for y'all," Mera says.
She applies a balm to my wounds and applies new bandages for my palms. But doesn't cover up my bruises.
"Let the bruises breath," she says
She then fixes Leo's wounds.

"Okay, I think we're done, I got to check the foods since I'm in charge," Mera says.
"Thanks, Mera!" I say.
"Yeah, no problem." She says.
She packs her kit up. She walks out of the room. Leo and I are left in the room.
"Are you going to go?" I ask.
"You want me to go that bad?"
"No, I'm just asking," I say.
"Yeah, I have to get going," Leo says.
"Okay," I say.
Leo looks at me and comes in to kiss my forehead. 
(Knock knock)
Leo gets up and opens the door. I get off my bed and walk over to the door. 
"Candy Goldy?" It's the police.
"Hi, how can I help you?" I ask.
"We're here to ask you some questions about this yesterday." One of the officers says.
"Okay, should we find a place to talk, how about the restaurant downstairs?"
"Okay, I'll meet you down there," the officer says walking away.
I look at Leo nervously.
"It's okay just tell them the truth." He says.
We then walked after the police and went downstairs.

(D-1)
Today is rehearsal day. The wedding is going to take place outside. Ella and I are heading out to go to the rehearsal area. We are in the store downstairs, buying some snacks.
"Ella, are you able to finish all those?" I ask looking at Ella.
She has a big handful of snacks.
"Yeah, of course, help me out here," she says.
I helped her and we went to the rehearsal place.
The weather is nice, it's not too hot or cold. I spot the arrangement they've made for the stage. I also spot that Leo is already there. We get to the place and Samuel walks over to us. He sees Ella's bag full of snacks.
"Ella, you bought all those snacks?" Samuel asks.
"Yeah, I'm hungry." She says.
I walk over to Leo. He's sitting under a tree, looks like he's asleep. I walk slowly to him. Making the littlest of sound. I grab my hand out because I see that his head is leaning too much.
Leo grabs my hand. 

"Ouuch," I say loudly.
Leo looks, opens his eyes, and looks at me.
"Candy, I'm sorry, I didn't know it was you," he says letting my hand go.
"It's okay," I say. Sitting next to him.
"Let me see your hands," he says.
I give him my hand and he looks at them. They are still bruises. I can sense that he's getting angry.
"Leo, let's go! They are probably waiting on us," I say getting up.
Leo gets up and we walk over to the rehearsal place. I spot my dad and the twins. I then spotted a lady with a little girl. The little girl starts running towards Leo.
"Brother! Brother," she says running.
Leo picks her up.
"Stephanie, this is Candy,"
I look at her, she's so adorable.
"Hi, Stephanie," I say smiling.
"You're so pretty," she says.
I'm in awe by what she says.
The lady walks over to us.
"Leo, take care of Stephanie, I have to go," she says.
"Okay, I will," Leo says.
She kneels down to Stephanie's level and kisses her goodbye. She gets up and smiles at me. She then walks away.
"Who's that? Stephanie's mom?" I say.
"Yeah, Veronica," Leo says.
"She's beautiful," I say.
"Oh, you're my type of beautiful," Leo says.
"Sure," I say walking away.
The rehearsal starts and everything goes to plan. The flower girls are Stephanie and Mina. While Mino is the ring boy. Ella wanted this wedding simple so there's only me and Leo has bride/groom mates. Throughout the whole rehearsal, Ella munches on of her snacks. We don't say anything.
After the rehearsal, Leo and I hang out. We sit on a log on the beach. We brought the twins and Stephanie along. The kids really liked each other. We are watching them from afar.
"I want many kids," Leo says suddenly.
"With who?" I say.
"With you obviously, you think I'm going to have other people's kids," he says.
"You never know," I say jokingly.
Before we could say more, the kids dragged us and made us play with them.
