I awake again to Leo coming back into the van. "I'll have to come back tomorrow, let's go." He says.
I'm still half asleep but I know I'm hungry.
"What time is it?" I ask
"5:46, are you hungry?" Leo then asks.
I nod my head. Leo sticks his hand out to me. I grab it and get out of the van.
"My car is over there," he says. "Where you want to go eat, what do you want to eat?" He asks.
"Noodles," I say.
"You want to go over to Mera's place?" He asks.
I nodd.

"Okay, let me call and ask," he says.
(Leo calling Mera)
On speaker:
"Hey Mera, Candy wants noodles, can we come by and grab some?"
"Of course. I'll have it ready when you're here." She says.
(Mera hangs up)
"Okay let's go," Leo says, grabbing my hand.

We get to Mera's apartment. I get out of the car and I can smell noodles in the distance. The scent gives me strength again. I walked up to Mera's apartment happily.
(Knock knock, the door opens)

"Candy!"
"Mera!" I say excitedly.
"Come in," she says.
"Sorry to bother you, but I missed your noodles," I say.
Leo walks past me and Mera and goes and sits on the couch.
"No, I missed you, glad you came." She says. "Let's eat, the noodles are ready,"
"Thanks, Mera," I say.
We walk to the kitchen. Mera starts to scoop the noodles.
"Leo come help," Mera says.
Leo gets up and I give him the plates. He puts it on the table.
"Candy go sit," I got this, Mera says.
"No, it's fine, I'll help," I say insisting.
"Alright, I had cut some vegetables, they are in the fridge, can you get them and put them on the table?"
"Okay," I say.
I grab the vegetables from the fridge and take them to the table. Leo was already sitting down.

"Did you wash your hands yet?" I ask him.
"Oh, yeah... you haven't either, I'll take you too," he says dragging me to the bathroom.
We wash our hands and sit down. Mera stares at us. Smiling widely.
"So how long have you guys been together," she asks.
"Not that long," I say.
"Hope you stay together forever," she says.
"We are, she said she will marry me," Leo says.
"I Didn't," I say
"Yes you did, why are you shy," Leo says.
Mera looks at us still smiling.
"Okay, let's eat, aren't you here to eat, what are you waiting for?" Mera says.
I dig in and can't help but awe.
"Mera your noodles are just perfect, so good," I say.
"Thanks, I should cook something else for you next time," she says. "Candy, Your eyes are swollen. What did Leo do?"

"Long story, do you want to hear?" I ask.

"Yeah, of course," she says.
"So today, in the afternoon I watched the news. There were corpses found in the Melon farm. I didn't want to watch the news, but a reporter came to the screen. Then I notice behind her on the table, the chain I gave Leo. At first, I thought it wasn't my chain, but I looked closer and it was my chain. I was shocked to see my chain there, why, what, how? I then thought that Leo was one of the corpses. I thought he died."
Mera and Leo are amused listening to my story.
"Okay, my turn," Leo says.
"So Candy started calling me at that moment. I didn't know she called me because I didn't have my phone yet. After I got my phone back, I see that she called me over 50 times and she left a voicemail... do you want to hear," Leo asks giggling.
Before Mera says anything, he opens the voicemail.
"Leo, call me, tell me it's fake (aahhh (crying)) Leo you said you'd call me and we would meet again. You can't break your promise. Don't pull a prank on me. Leo, you asked me to marry you. I didn't say no, call me back so I can say yes. You say you'd be back in a month. It's been over. Come back(Crying) Leo..."

After hearing myself, I didn't know how to react.
"I wasn't thinking straight," I say to solve the situation.
"It's fine, that's sweet Candy, what happens next," Mera asks.
"So when I get my phone back I call Candy right away. But someone else answers. It was her Uber driver. He said that she forgot her phone and he would return it to her. I asked him where and he said Melon Farm. I was already at the crime scene and I knew she came. But I had to go get her phone first. The Uber guy comes and drops off her phone. I then go back to see her being pulled back by officers. She's insisting that the officers let her go. I tell the officers to let her go. She starts walking towards one of the victims. I was confused for a second, and I said, "let her go to her boyfriend." She then notices it's me, my voice. So I go into hiding. She then looks behind her and doesn't see me but when she turns back around I'm right there in front of her."

"Candy,  I'm sorry, this nephew of mine made you cry," she says.

"Haha. No it's fine, I misunderstood," I say.
"It's not, look how swollen your eyes are, after you're done eating, I'll get you an ice pack," she says. "Leo look at her!" She says yelling at Leo.
"It's fine Mera, it was my fault also, plus I was overthinking. Leo said he left the chain by accident."
"Exactly... he left it there, and it made you think all that," she looks at Leo. I can feel lasers shooting out her eyes.
"It's really fine, as long as he's safe," I say smiling.
"Bless your heart, Candy. Leo, you hit the jackpot." She says finally.
