(1 week later)
"Leo should be back by now," I say looking out the window. It's rainy and moody.

The day at the coffee shop, I gave Leo a chain that had my name on it. This chain I got many years ago, I customized it. I just had it in my bag at the right time, so I gave it to Leo. Also that day, Leo agreed to call me when he's back and we would meet up.

(Another week later)
No news of Leo. He should have called me, but he didn't. "Maybe, he forgot, maybe he has to stay longer," I say. I walk downstairs and sit on the couch. I open the tv and I'm about to change the channel when I see something.
"Many corpses were found in the melon farm. It is possible that they were thrown off the cliff." The headline reads. "many corpses found, it is still a mystery...(blah blah)..."
I didn't think much of the news until the reporter came out. While the reporter was talking I noticed something behind her, on the table. A chain. I couldn't see the chain clearly so I stood up and walked closer to my tv. "Candy, it reads candy... it looks like my chain... What is my chain doing there? Is that my chain? I customized my chain to look like that." I take a step back to look at the chain, in a wider view... that's mine!" I say.
I'm processing the information through my head. If that is my chain, and I gave that to Leo. Corpses, Chain, Leo. I drop to the floor in shock.

"No! That can't be." I say. I crawl to my phone. I call Leo. He doesn't pick up. I call again, again, again. At this rate, I'm crying.
(PLEASE LEAVE YOUR MESSAGE AT THE TONE)
"Leo, call me, tell me it's fake (aahhh (crying)) Leo you said you'd call me and we would meet again. You can't break your promise. Don't pull a prank on me. Leo, you asked me to marry you. I didn't say no, call me back so I can say yes. You say you'd be back in a month. It's been over a month. Come back(Crying) Leo..."
(On The TV)
"We are currently at the Melon Farm, just a mile down. The corpses were found there by the Farmer... blah blah.."
"Melon farm. I have to go." I say getting up. I head upstairs and grab my bag. I quickly ran outside. My shoes are not on properly. My Uber didn't arrive yet. I call Leo again. He doesn't answer. My Uber finally arrives. I get on and fix my shoes. The melon farm was half an hour away from my home. I used to pick melons there before. Throughout the ride I called Leo, hoping he would pick up. He doesn't.

(An hour later)
I get to the melon farm. I see many people. Many reporters and cameras. Many other people are here also. To do work and to look. I look for the reporter on the tv. I don't see her. But I spot the table and my chain. No one was standing there at that moment. I run towards the table and grab the chain. I collapse on the ground to see that it's really my chain. My tears overflow out of my eyes.
A police officer comes over to me.
"Miss you can't be here, please go back," the officer says.
I look up at him.
"Why is this chain here?" I say crying.
" I believe it belongs to someone here." The officer then says. "Please miss, please go back, you can't be here."
"Nooo, it's mine, I gave it to my boyfriend," I say, still crying. "My boyfriend told me he was going to call me a week ago and he hasn't called."
"Miss, sorry to hear but you have to cooperate with us. Please go back." The officer says again.

"Where is he? The owner of the chain, let me see him," I say.
The officer looks confused and looks around for help.
Two other officers come by. They say the same thing as the first officer.
"Where is he?" I say, bawling my eyes out.
"Miss, if you don't cooperate with us, we will have to make you leave by force." One officer says.
A cart passes behind me. I look behind. It was a body. It was covered but I could see one side of the arm hanging out. I instantly thought it was Leo.

I'm about to get up and run over to the cart. But the offers caught me before I could run.
"That's my boyfriend," I say crying.
I attempt to run again but the officers are holding me back.
"Let me go!" I say.

"Let her go," someone says in the distance.

They let me go. I'm walking towards this body until this someone says something else.
"Let her go to her boyfriend," this person says.

This voice is similar to Leo's .... "Leo?" I thought.
My hopes are high that it's Leo. I look back to search. Only the officers were there. No Leo insight. "Maybe I'm imagining things, hearing things.." I turn back around again.

Leo is in front of me. I just froze and cried some more. Leo wraps his arm around me. And hugs me tight. I hold the chain tight in my hand. I look up to him.
"I thought you were... dead. I saw my chain on tv." I say holding the chain up.
Leo takes the chain and starts laughing.
"This isn't funny. This is serious," I say crying more.

"Sir, please look at the corpses." An officer comes to say.
"Give me a moment," Leo says. "Officer Pear, take her somewhere safe," he says, letting me go and handing me over to the officer.
I walk off and turn back to look at him.
"Don't worry I'll be there in a while," Leo says smiling.
I turn back around and walk with the officer. She takes me to a van, I get in. She hands me a blanket and puts it on top of my lap.
"Don't worry, he'll be here in a moment." She says, closing the van door.
I'm drained and dehydrated at this rate. I search for my phone. It wasn't in my pocket. "I probably forgot it in the Uber." I closed my eyes for a moment and suddenly I was out.

I awake to someone opening the van's door. It was Leo. He comes inside the van. And sits next to me. He looks at me.
I don't say anything but cry again.
"What's wrong, I'm here," he says.
"Exactly!" I say. "I thought you were dead, you scared me, you didn't call me like we agreed. It's been over a month. You.." (cough cough*)
Leo grabs a water bottle from behind me and opens it for me to drink.
"Here drink some water," Leo says. "You shouldn't assume without evidence." Leo then says.
"What do you mean, the chain. There's not another one that looks like this," I say sobbing.
"I left it there on accident, also how did you see, it's really small," he says
I don't say anything. By now I have no tears left to cry.
"I'm sorry," he says.

I turn my back towards him and lean on the seat. I can feel Leo gravitate towards me. He slides his arms around my waist.
"I'm sorry, don't be mad..." he says, whispering in my ear. "They lost my phone and I got it delivered just like 30 mins ago... then I saw all your missed calls and your voicemail... you really want to marry me, let's get married then." He says.
I turned back towards him. He sits back in his seat.
"I wasn't thinking...We're still young, we got many years ahead of us." I say.
"Again, you don't say no," he says jokingly.
I don't say anything else. I just look at him. I'm drained, all my energy and tears have vanished.
"I then called you back, but your Uber Driver picked up. He said you left your phone. He came back and gave this to me." Leo says handing me my phone.
I look at him and stare blankly at him.

"I missed you," I say at last.

His face lights up.
"I missed you too," Leo says. "I have to get back to work, you can wait for me, or I can ask someone to take you home?" He asks.
"No, I'll wait," I say.
"Okay," he says.
He gives me a kiss on the forehead and gets out of the van. I look at my phone and it's 3 pm. I left the house at 12:30 ish.
"He's a cop? Detective? Something good guy related." I thought at last. I close my eyes and fall asleep.
