If it's fate

Part 9: Coffee Shop

Woah it looks like it's gonna rain. " let's walk faster, the shop is right around the corner." I say.
We get to the store
" Come on kids, Mino go in first." (Ding dong) I look around for Leo. I finally spotted him. He is sitting on the side near the window. "Come on kids let's sit over there."
I walk them to Leo.
"Hey, sorry I'm late." he looks up at me and then down to the twins.
"You have kids?" he then asks.
"Ohhh nooo! they're my nephew and niece. My brother's kids. I have to watch them for today. Sorry, I didn't tell you ahead." I finally say.
"No, it's fine, I'm cool with it." he then says.
He then looks at the twins again.
"Who's are these cuties?" he then asks.
"I'm Mino, and this is my older sister Mina," Mino said proudly. Mina moved behind me to hide from Leo. He just smiles towards the twins.
"sit down first" he then says.
Mina shyly sat across from Leo, While Mino sat next to Leo.
"Aunty, are we going to eat cake yet?" Mino then asks.
"Yeah. of course, what type do you want?" I then ask.
" Can I go look?" Mina says quietly.
"Okay, let's go," as I lifted Mina from her chair. "Ummm... can you watch Mino for a while?" I then asked Leo.
"Yeah," he says.
I walk to the counter with Mina. She looks at the cakes in glass-covered and then back at our table. I notice what was going on and then I ask her.
"Mina do you like him?" I ask quietly.
"Ummm... Nooo.. he's handsome aunty," she says quietly.

A four-year can distinguish what is good-looking and not. My niece has good taste. I thought. I smile a little.
"let's pick a few pieces of cake and drinks." I then say.
"Okay let's get a piece of this cake and a piece of this one too." she points to the cakes.
"Okay, are sure you guys can finish it?" I then ask.
"Yeah, of course, aunty!" she then says happily.
We then got our cakes and drinks and I brought them back to the table. The boys seem busy talking about something. "What are you boys talking about." I then ask.
"Nothing, just man things." Mino then declared.
"Woah you're a big boy now, huh Mino, keeping things from aunty," I say sadly.
"It's a secret aunty, real men keep secrets to themselves." he then proceeded to say.
I then look at Leo, he's smiling at me.

"Okay, who wants to eat cake?" I then ask as I put Mina back on the chair.
"Meee!" they both shouted.
"Okay... here Mino, eat this... Try to finish it... " I then say.

I started to help mina eat her cake. Then give some cake to Mino. Leo noticed.
"Let me help," he then suggests. " I'll feed Mina." as he smiles at her. I noticed Mina getting shy.
"Okay. here go ahead." as I hand him the spoon. Then I was going to feed Mino, but before I could,  Mino says, "it's okay aunty, I'm a big boy now." As he smiles widely.
I just smile and handed him the spoon. I notice Leo being so gentle with Mina.
"It seems like he likes kids. He looked like a fathe- wow, what am I thinking!"

We are too busy to speak. I look at him.
"What were you doing at my university?" I ask
"Oh, I went to meet my uncle. My father asked me to bring something for my uncle." He then says.
"Oh.. well thanks for saving me, Without you I would probably be injured or dead," I say.
"you're welcome. Watch out for cars." he then says.
I smile widely at him and take a sip of my drink.

(rain starts to pour heavily)
We all look out of the window.
"How you getting home," he then asks.
"I'm gonna call for a Uber." I then say.
"Let me take you home." he then suggested.
"No, it's fine... You've done enough already, it's fine." I then say.
"No, let me take you guys home... it's raining heavily, the kids might get sick." he then added.
"Well.. yeah... Thanks." I finally say agreeing.

The kids finish eating and I call to pay for the bill. The waiter came over and gave me the bill.
"I'll pay for it," Leo says as he handed his card to the waiter. The waiter then goes back to the machine thing.
"Thanks, but you don't have to."
"No, I asked you out." he then says.

He hands his card to the waiter, moments later the waiter returns with his card and he puts his card back into his wallet.

"Should we go?"
"Yeah let's go."  I then say.
"I'll go get my car, I'll drive in front of the store, wait a moment," he says.
"Alright." I then say.
He then runs out into the rain.

"Kids, don't tell mommy or aunt L, I brought you to eat cake, okay?" They both nodded. "Pinky promise," they promised me. I then saw Leo pull up. I held them by their hands and we went out of the shop. It was pouring heavily. Leo yells for us to stay there. So we just stood there. Leo came out. He runs towards us and he first lifted Mina up and put her in his car, then comes back for Mino. I walked to the car, and sit in the passenger seat. I look back to make sure the kids were buckled and ready to go.
"Sorry, I don't have car seats for them," he says.
"No it's fine, I think they are secured," I say looking back.
"Okay, you ready to go home?" Leo then asks.
I look at him, he was wet, I get a towel out of my bag and gave it to him.
He sits the towel on his shoulders.
"Here let me help, you're soaked. You might catch a cold." as I rub the towel in his hair. He then put his hand on the towel. (My hands)
"Thanks, I'll do it." he then says, smiling.
I just stare at him and smile back. I turn around and look out the window.

"Tell me the way." He says.
"Okay," I say.
