{Rose's P.O.V.} {edited}

I woke up to the sound of rustling somewhere in the house. I looked at the time and saw it about the time my mom would be leaving for work. I try to sit up by leaning on my arm but I feel stinging and aching. I actually look at my arm, there's dried blood all over my bed and my arm, and I sigh surprised I didn't bleed out. I wash off the blood and then bandage up my arm, leaving my sheets to clean for later. I quietly listen and wait for my mom to leave the house. I hear the satisfying click of the door locking and unbandage my arm and get in and have a cold shower. I run my hands through my hair and the tears from last night come back in full force.

I got some clean clothes on and caught the bus over to the hospital. I walked in the front doors and headed to Luke's room. As soon as I passed through the door, my heart dropped. The room was empty, no sign of Luke. I started to panic, was this the wrong room? I checked the door number, no it wasn't. Did he... did he die? I jump when I hear a knock on the door.

"Hey Rose, thought I'd find you here." I turn around and see Liz. I smile and walks towards her, and she returns the smile.

"They moved Luke. Here I'll show you," she says turning around and walking out the room. I follow her, he was moved upstairs. When we get to his room I run to him, he's still unconscious. I sit beside him and grab his hand, oh god I wished he would wake up. I hear the door closing and I look up to see Liz left, leaving me alone.

"Luke, please wake up, just give me a sign that you're here." I wait for a response, but there isn't one. I sigh letting go of his hand, and leaning back in his chair. I wonder if he can hear me, I hope so, that'll keep him fighting. The door opens again and it's like déjà vu. The three boys shuffle in the room but instead of standing awkwardly by the door they say hello and sit down with me.

"Shown any signs?" Ashton asks hopefully. I look down at my lap and shake my head. He sighs and sits down.

"Rose, don't you have school?" Calum asks. I bark out a short laugh then cover my mouth. Calum smiles and wiggles his eyebrows. I shake my head.

"No, not when Luke is like this," I say. Also because it's a living hell, but that would be the conversation ender. We sit in silence for a few more moment before Michael pipes up.

"Well Rose, any friend of Luke's is a friend of mine. How about we play 20 questions so we get to know each other better." They all smile and nod excitedly, but I'm skeptical. I don't feel comfortable, but I guess I could lie if they asked anything personal. I smile and nod to them.

"Yeah sure, you go first," I say. He smiles and itches his neck.

"Okay, now this ones pretty deep, what's your favourite colour?"

I have to think about this for a moment, I never really take the time to enjoy things in life so it's odd to have a favourite thing. I tilt my head and look at the ceiling.

"Red," I say. It's the colour of roses, blood, passion. Its a strong colour.

"Your turn," Ashton says.

"Favourite band?" It goes on like this for a while until I accidentally pull my sleeve up a little bit exposing my gauze.

"What's that," Ashton whispers pointing to it slyly while the other two boys are talking. I quickly pull my sleeve down and mentally kick myself, I've been so reckless lately.

"Oh um, nothing," I quickly lie, horribly I might add. Sadness fills Ashton's eyes. I decide it's time to leave.

"Whew look at the time, I'm going to go home now," I say jumping up and walking towards the door.

"Here, I'll drive you again" Ashton offers getting up. I sigh knowing I have to accept. I nod and we walk in silence to the car. My nerves are on edge, I wonder what he's going to say about it. He starts talking as soon as we get in the car.
