{Rose's P.O.V.} {edited}

I felt a gentle hand nudge me, and I fluttered my eyes open and I focused on a woman. I recognized the woman as Liz, Luke's mother.

Luke

I grab onto Liz and fight back tears as the memories from yesterday flash behind my eyes like a movie.

"Luke! Is Luke okay?" I ask deserately searching Liz's eyes. She smiles, the reaction I wanted to see, but theres something in her eyes that makes me uneasy.

"Yes dear, he's stable." I sigh in relief and release my grip on her wrist leaning back in the uncomfortable chair.

"If you would like I can get them to let you see him," she asks. I nod enthusiasticly. She turns around and walks away, and I get up and follow her. She walks down a hallway lined with white. I always hated the smell of hospitals, it reminded me of when I was four and my mom had cancer, the smell always reminded me of those horrible times, and another horrible time...

Liz turns into a room, the sound of beeping fills my ears and I see Luke, his face pale but covered in bruises. He has a cast on his hand, and leg, and from what I can see his ribs are wrapped up too. I rush to his side fighting back tears. I say his name but his eyes still don't open. I hear a sniffle and look back to see Liz wiping a tear from her face.

"He hasn't woken up yet. He's in a coma. If he doesn't wake up or give a sign that he's still with us in the next week," she says voice cracking and she lets out a small cry. She takes a deep breath and continues.

"If he doesn't show a sign in the next week then his brain is already dead and there's nothing we can do," she says ending with a sob. She starts quietly crying and I walk over to her, hugging her. She hugs back and cries into me, holding on to me desperately as if I was the only person in the world that could help her.
