part thirteen

after letting go of each other, daniel is still by my side and hugging me. the officer asks us questions. they asked to take a look at the footage so i brought them to the back to get the tape. i give them the copy to see what happened. they questioned some other girls in the shop and the girl who called the police came up to us

??: hi my name is brooke and i wanted to help you guys but i thought he was gonna do the same to me but all i could do was call the police
alex: no what you did was way better thank you so much
mariah: thank you. you're so nice

she says bye to us and she gives me an extra tip. then she grabs her things and then leaves.

alex: and thank you boys for coming in at the right time
daniel: we were just laughing coming in and all
jonah saw was that man grabbing you guys so we ran.
zach: yeah and anything for you guys. we would've helped no matter what. even if we didn't know you guys or not
jack: no one should ever go through that

i look down at the ground and mariah knew what i was thinking about.

mariah: yeah well just get seated.
alex: imma bout to go on break so hurry if y'all
want anything. lemme just go over to the counter

i head over to the counter and the boys follow over to me and they look at the menu. they order coffee n muffins like everyone else. i make their coffees while they go sit down around mariah. soon i finish and i bring em to the table. daniel comes to help me because it's a lot of stuff. i look up at him n smile. he smiles back. i give em everything they ordered n they all sat down.

alex: imma go clock out for my break

i go to the back and clocked out for my break then my other coworker came in to clock in. his name is jake. i grab my bag n jake starts talking.

alex: hey jake
jake: oh hey alex. what's up
alex: nothing much.
jake: i heard what happened a bit ago with you n mariah.
alex: yeah...
jake: i'm sorry. only if i came sooner. i would have kicked his ass
alex: awe thanks jake. i would've kicked his ass too it's just i froze. he grabbed mariah first and i was bout to do sum but then he grabbed my wrist over the counter n i couldn't move. i froze
jake: yeah you're fine tho. i'm happy someone called the police and i saw a group of guys with mariah.
alex: yeah we know them. we met em yesterday n they wanted to hang out so i told em to come here. because i'm still working. but yeah they came right on time when the guy was here. they took the guy off of us and held him back until the police came.
jake: that's good well i'm sorry that happened again
alex: it's fine. at least we got it situated
jake: yeah

we start talking about something else n walk out of the back with jake. n we're both laughing because he told the most stupidest n cheesy joke but it was still hilarious.

i see daniel looking at us with a bit of jealousy ? maybe i'm seeing things but it's kinda cute if he's actually jealous

i say bye to jake and i make my way to the table.

alex: hey y'all. i'm back
corbyn: welcome back
alex: i still need to get sum school work done so if y'all talk about sum just know i'm listening but i gotta do work. it's due in a few days.
zach: okay
jack: if you need help we can help you out
alex: well i mean if y'all are good at photography then y'all can
jonah: i totally forgot your major is photography.
alex: haha yeah. well you guys should've seen mariah like an hour ago. she was having trouble with her work n she got so maddddd
mariah: shut your bitch ass up alex
alex: make me hoe
mariah: oh bitch i'll make you.

we always do this shit. we pretend to fight so mariah gets her ass out her chair and comes around the table to face me. the boys look like an actual is bout to go down so they scared n shit. jake is jus laughing because he has seen this act so many times. like hundreds of time because we always do this. we go face to face n then we start laughing. hysterically. i hug her still laughing. i look back at jake to see him laughing too.

jake: every single time
alex: you know it.
mariah: it's a tradition. you know it by now.

mariah goes back to sitting down n then i sit next to daniel at the end of the table.

jack: i really thought you guys were gonna fight
alex: nah if you see us do that shit then don't worry
mariah: we do that everyday no joke
alex: we do it in public just to see what people say or do
jonah: i love that
zach: it's like a social experiment but for your own fun
mariah: haha guess so.

we go back to our normal talk. i take my macbook out of my bag and set it. then i grab my planner to see what i gotta do n finish

idk about y'all but i always do that with my friends 😭😭
