I wake up. I look at my phone. 2 AM. I'm hungry and thirsty. I'm in Victor's bedroom, but Victor isn't there. I remember falling asleep in his arms. I put my kimono on and quietly walk out of the room. I hear Tyler talking with Victor. He came back! That's good news, I hope he is not angry anymore. I stop, just before the stairs. I hear Victor more clearly, they are making efforts to talk low.
-Where the hell were you?
-Don't worry, I didn't do anything stupid.
-I hope so, because I was worried.
-You were worried?
-Yes.
-You were so worried, that you slept with her, again.
-It's not the point. Look at you! You look out of your mind!
At this point, I decide to intervene. I got nothing to lose. I go down the stairs, they don't even notice me.
-Tyler, tell him.
They quickly turn around surprised.
-What?
-Tell him.
-About what?
-Or I will do it.
He sighs. Victor looks confused.
-What's going on?
I look at the ground and Tyler begins.
-I'm back on the pills.
-I knew that.
-You know?
-Of course I know! Look at you! What is your excuse, now?!
-We need to keep the business flowing.
-The business? Tyler... It is flowing. You can stop worrying about that and start to worry about yourself. I mean, have you looked in a mirror lately? I think you haven't slept more than ten hours in three days.
-I know.
-If you wont do it for yourself, do it for me, do it for her.
Victor points me. I smile gently at Tyler.
-Yeah...
-You like her, don't you?
-If I like her? Victor, I love her. She's so important to me, I would do anything for her. I need her.
I feel like I'm not suppose to be there.
-But, I don't think you like me.
Tyler gazes up at me. I open my mouth surprised by his comment.
-Of course, I like you.
-Then why, is he the only one who got to see you like that?
-I don't know, Tyler.
Victor intervenes.
-Alright people, I think we all need to sleep.
-So you guys, can go back cuddling?
-Tyler, calm yourself, it's not about that. You are tired, you need to sleep. Also and most of all, you need help.
Tyler walks toward the stairs and climbs them without even looking at me. I get up and run into Victor's arms.
-I'm so sorry. I didn't tell you.
-It's okay, don't worry. Tomorrow, we're going back to the city.
