Days went on and on for Holly and James as James still hadn't talked to her. Holly had been completely left in the dark while Sirius had told James that she wasn't angry. Just sad. But she wanted to see him. Still, James didn't do anything. He just sat idly by and let them both be miserable.
Eventually, another week had passed. The rest of the Marauders besides James, had been spending most of their time with her. Holly was thoroughly confused at first. She kept wondering where James was, or why they weren't hanging out with him. But she thought that they must be spending their own time with him. Fairness and everything.
Remus would usually spend time with her in the library. They talked about studying techniques and how they make studying enjoyable. They talk and laugh so much that they find themselves not getting much studying done!
Peter, usually spent potions class with her. They hadn't had another accident- luckily- but they enjoyed making weird potions that weren't assigned to the class. Slughorn, did not enjoy it.
Sirius was different. Sirius probably felt the worst about the Marauders spending a lot of their time with Holly instead of James. He felt like he was choosing sides when that wasn't what he wanted to do. But nonetheless, Sirius enjoyed spending time with Holly. They talked about random stuff that always made them laugh. Ever since James had urged Sirius to go over there, Sirius usually sat with Holly in History of Magic.
After that History of Magic class, Holly and the Marauders left the room in a fit of hysterics, laughing about an embarrassing mishap that happened in owl level potions. Once their laughter calmed down, Remus looked down at Holly.
"So, Holly, you seemed particularly fascinated with today's lesson." Remus mentioned, wanting to start up a debate between the two. Sirius snorted.
"Seriously, what is your fascination with magical history?" Sirius said with a snicker, moving the subject away from debates. Peter laughed with him.
"You're a nerd." Peter teased, getting up in Holly's face. Holly scoffed, pushing Peter away from her.
"So what if I'm a nerd?! I'm a bloody proud nerd!" Holly defended herself with a slight smile. All the boys erupted in laughter once again. "I enjoy history! I find it fascinating!" Holly said, putting emphasis on how much she enjoyed it, hoping that would get them to lay off. It didn't, of course. They only laughed louder. Holly merely shook her head at them, knowing she didn't stand a chance. Once the boys calmed down, they all walked through the corridors to their next class. Both of their classes, though different, were close.
"Whatever floats your boat, Holly." Sirius muses.
Holly started thinking how weird this all was. She was friends with the Marauders. Then, she started thinking about James and felt bad. She quickly moved onto how she met James, which got her thinking about the pitch and what she had done to the pitch. All thoughts leading to how they still hadn't really accused anyone of setting the pitch on fire. Holly moved in close to her friends, nervously looking around as a renewed sense of paranoia crept up on her.
"Have any of you caught wind of what they're saying about the pitch?" Holly asks them lowly, still looking around.
"The students seemed to have moved on. Not big news anymore, I guess." Sirius said with a shrug.
"I heard that the professors have no clue who it is. All the fire burned any magical trace of being found. When the professors asked James about it, he said he hadn't seen anything since he wanted to confront you about it first," Peter said, motioning to Holly. Everyone seemed to frown at the thought of James. Peter went on. "It's also been too long for them to check wands." Peter adds.
