Tuesday. Well today I had an English test. That wasn't a big deal because I've always had a real feel for English, so yes I knew I was going to ace it.

Take note what men of old
   concluded:
That what there is shall go to
those who are good for it,
   Children to the motherly, that
   they prosper,
Carts to good drivers, that they
    be driven well,
    The valley to the waterers,
    that it yield fruit.

Well, that had always been my favorite part in The Caucasian chalk circle by Bertolt Brecht. So when I saw it, I started reciting more passages from the book, more to myself I thought. Till I heard the teacher, Mr. John, tap my shoulder.
"Yes Mr. " I looked up at him.
"You're too loud for an exam room, do you realize that? " He asked.
"Oh, sorry I didn't notice, " I stated apologetically.
"OK, get back to your test then, " he said walking away.
That was enough to earn a few stares from the class. Honestly, he was still a handsome young man, in his late twenties I guess. Girls hugely had a crush on him, and so getting his attention was something they so much wanted.
Mmmh... I earned it so simple.

"Linn, follow me to my office, " Mr. John declared at the end of the test.
Did I do anything wrong other than reciting too loud?
I was...confused wasn't the word, I didn't even know which one was fit for my situation. Anyway, I walked to his office still.

"So every girl's crush has now decided to choose for himself, Wow Linn, congratulations! " May chanted happily.
"Where the heck did that come from? " I was honestly shocked.
"I mean, he barely talked on anything about liking me or close to that! God, what's wrong with people and rumours? "
"That's what everyone in class said after the test, " May replied.
"And you believe it ? " I was angry at this point.
"Hey, calm down. Nobody said I believed it, I just wanted to let you know what people think. "
"Well maybe you should know better than telling me next time, because I feel like punching someone right now," I furiously told her.
"Chill out, that's done. I know you better than that. Besides, who gives a crap about what Leah says? "
I should have known it was Leah who started these 'juicy' rumours.
"Whatever, let's go. "

It was the break period, so we went to sit in the field whiling time away.
Frances and Miranda joined in a little bit later.
"Where's Daisy? " I asked,noticing she wasn't anywhere behind the two.
"She didn't say where she was going though, but said she'll catch up at lunch," Frances answered.
"Oh, weird I must say, " May commented.
It was true.
"Maybe she got new friends to catch up with, " I said.
"Or maybe...err... She's got a date with Flen, " May pointed out.
We all found it absurd, but still it could be. After all, he was her crush.
I felt a sudden pang of jealousy, more like I was disgusted or something. I couldn't place why though.
"But they could make a good match I'll say, I mean they compliment each other, to my liking, " Miranda mentioned.
"I couldn't agree less with you, I can even help getting them together if need be, " Frances commented.

Well, that was all I needed to hear before I started feeling angry. Or not even angry, I felt something more aggressive. An inner turmoil attempting to throw my temper into a rage.
Am not taking this anymore, NO!
"Hey girls, I need to use the comfort room, see you in class. " I didn't even wait for them to say anything, I literally ran from them.

Hey Linn, you're overreacting! What's wrong with Daisy having a crush on Flen?
Besides, no one even said she's made a move or Flen has requited the crush thing!
Shut up!
Anyway, why was I even going crazy about this whole thing?
I splashed water on my face then dabbed it dry. I forced a smile in the mirror, and here we go!
I was out.
I walked my way to my next class, it was a business class.
OK, Lakeview was a 3-streamed school, for every class. That meant classes were more of 'go here for this class, go there for that. '
So basically we were on the move every time at least.
But the principal was sagacious, little time was taken in the movements so that study hours were just as needed by the Ministry of Education.

Right ahead of me was someone I don't really think I wanted to see at the moment.
You got this Linn.
"Hello my beautiful lady."
"You know you can just call me Linn, " I answered in return.
"So you don't even take compliments, I didn't know that. Anyway, you seem not so okay, anything wrong?" He asked concernedly.
Yes.
"No, am fine thanks. "
"Your face reads otherwise Linn, what's up? "
Was it so obvious then?
"Oh, I have been yawning for the last 30 minutes you know. Am so hungry Flen."
Wow!  What a lie!
He laughed at me so hard. Am glad that worked.
"You know what Linn? You've made my day, just go to class. See you at lunch break," he mentioned walking away still laughing.
Well, I laughed too.
I felt at ease, I smiled as I made my way to the business hall.
Then I saw Leah just a few metres in my line of vision. She must have been watching me. I knew just what to do.

"Get a life girl! "
