Wow! I've been waiting for this day like no other; hello Friday!
Grandma was up early today, they were in the living room with Mum.

"She'll have to find out someday you know, " I heard Grandma say.
"I know Mum, give me time at least, " Mum responded.

Who was she?  And what was she to find out?
Whatever. I walked in to the living room making my way to the kitchen.
"Do you have bugs in your beds?" I asked.
"Who said we did? " Mum asked turning to face me.
"Why do you have to wake up so early then? "
"It's 6a.m Linn! " Mum barked. It's not like I didn't know what time it was anyway.
"Mum, there's no milk in here! " I shouted after checking the fridge twice now.
"Oh, sorry. I'll go shopping today, actually much is missing in the house, " she informed.
"See the baby cry because there's no milk today, " Grandma mocked.
OK, I just have this weird habit of always waking up and going to the kitchen; most times to drink milk first, but others nothing. Where that habit came from, I don't know.

I leave for school after minutes of preparation and breakfast. The weather seems fine, the cold season will soon be here. I walk my way humming a tune which I can't tell it's origin.
Just as I was entering the tuition block, someone shouted behind me,"Good morning Linn. "
I turned around to see this smiling face I was starting to get used to, "Good morning Gabby, how are you? "
"Am fine thanks. I got you something actually."
I stood waiting to see what it was, a tin this time!
"What's in? " I asked taking it away from him.
He just smiled not saying anything.
"Wow! Cookies! Sure they ain't your breakfast today, " I teased.
"No. They were for breakfast but I had my share in the house. "
"You know what Gabby? I love you," I said taking a bite into one.
"Whoa! I didn't know falling in love is that easy, " he said chuckling.
We just laughed walking our way to class. Mine came into view first, so we waved goodbye and he went away.

There seemed to be a heated discussion between the four girls when I walked in.
"Morning ladies," I greeted wiping away the pieces of cookies around my mouth.
"Morning, " they all answered lifting their heads to face me.
"Am I missing anything? " I asked.
"OK, thing is we are deciding on a sleepover at my house today, but Miranda wants it at hers," May explained.
"Oh, interesting. Why not have it your house May, Miranda we had a birthday at your house last time, remember? " I said.
"That was a party Linn, not a sleepover, " Miranda defended.
"I know, thing is we have been to your place recently. So May's this time then next one at your place," I explained.
"I go with Linn, " Frances said.
Then Daisy seconded.
Wow! I won.
May hugged me, "Thank you babe, you'll share a bed with me, " she said winking at me.
"I always do you know."
OK, it wasn't entirely about defending May, Miranda's was further compared to the two, I didn't say that aloud though.
We sat up straight because the teacher was in already.
"Hey Linn, what's in that tin? " May asked taking a closer look at it.
"Cookies."
"Oh, since when did you start carrying tins? "
Seemed like this girl knew me all too well then.
"Gabriel gave me, " I answered giving her a piece.
"Wow! Someone's having a crush on you, " she said winking at me.
"No, he's just a friend, " I said slapping her wrist.

Why is the door locked? I checked under the doormat to get the keys, that's where we kept it whenever we had to lock the door.
No key!
Where is Grandma?
Or maybe she left with Mum to go shopping. But Mum never leaves with the key.
Maybe she forgot! I said turning around to the gate. I knew where to go and pass time.

It had started to get chilly, I was kinda freezing. But the sunset view from this river was something worth a watch. I was just throwing small stones into the water when I heard footsteps behind me.
Who could it be? I was starting to get scared, so I slowly turned around.
I was met by a handsome looking Flen  whose gaze was already on me.

"Hey, you almost killed me. I was scared, " I said after noticing the odd silence between us.
My stomach was in twitches, butterflies going about it.
"Sorry, am surprised you're here, " he said walking towards me.
"Actually, my mum and grandma left but didn't leave the key, that's why. "
"Grandma? "
"Oh, she's staying with us," I informed him.
"OK. Actually am glad they did, you failed me yesterday so you're paying for it today, " he said sitting next to me. He adjusted himself so close to me, actually our sides were rubbing.
Well.

"You're cold Linn, " he whispered.
"I know," I answered.
He then wrapped his arms around me so that I was leaning on him.
He was warm.
