It was 3 when I left to meet Flen. I thought about May and sent her 'a happy date ' text. She immediately called like she'd been waiting for it.
"Hey Linn, thanks. Am really anxious though because he said it'd be a surprise, I can't think of anything. Plus, I don't know if I'll look presentable enough.I can't seem to think of anything right now..." she won't stop talking if I won't interrupt.
"May! Calm down, all those butterflies in you won't give you an answer. Besides, four people can't just go wrong on an outfit and you know how to dress up. So girl, you good. OK? " I reassured.
"OK."
"Good. Have fun, and tell Bill he'll answer for any complain I get from you. "
"Hahaha, thanks, " she said and hang up.
I felt relieved. I hope Bill wouldn't cross the line afterwards, I've had enough of him!

No matter how many formulations I had in my head, none seemed a better approach to Flen. I mean, how was I going to just tell him I liked him?
'Flen, I like you! '
That definitely sounded worse!
Whatever.
If he ain't ever making the first move, I'll never do it.
Final.
Yeah, that sounded like it now.

He had his back to me. He was wearing a blue hood and black pants. His black hair was neatly combed. I wanted to see his face, which seemed too fazed by the beauty of this place we now frequented.
Just like any other day, the sun peered through the green trees sending a shimmer on the clear waters.
The sound of birds was the only familiar sound here. Otherwise, it was silent.
The thought of getting close to him sent shivers down my body. I could feel the anxiety in me through my belly.
I nervously walked to him, trying as much to control the anxiety.
He turned to face me, I didn't move at all.
I got lost in looking at the face of a boy  who seemed to have chained me. Everything went wild in me; my belly seemed to get hotter, and my heart was in fast rhythms. I felt shivers all through my body.
The things he does to me.

He stood up and walked to me sealing the distance between us with a hug.
At first, I didn't do anything I just stood there. Then I slowly brought up my hands, wanting to wrap it around his neck.
He withdrew before I could.
Embarrassing!
"Hey, glad you're here, " he said.
"Sorry about my tardiness, " I apologized.
"It's fine, come let's sit, " he said taking my hand and going for the spot he'd been earlier.
I sat beside him but he pulled me closer.
"I don't bite Linn, " he said.
"I don't do that either, " I responded.
"We're good then, no cause of worry, " he said.
"Hey Flen, tell me about you, " I blurted.
I didn't want the silence we've had between us most times, it sent my imagination far away.
And you can just imagine what I think when am around him!
"Pretty broad question though, but I'll try," he said ruffling his hair a bit.
"One is pretty obvious, you comb your hair well only to spoil it when you're nervous,"  I said chuckling.
His eyes went wide, he surely wasn't expecting that.
"That's new, thanks. "
"Fine, am all ears. Tell me, " I said knowing if I didn't insist he'd skip it.
I don't like that statement myself.
"Uhmm... Am Flen, I love chicken nuggets and fries, blue is my favorite color..."
"Wait!" I interrupted. "What's with boys and blue? "
I mean, Jamie loved blue. When helping May pick a gift for Bill on Valentine's, it had to be blue. Miranda's too had to be blue for Josh.
Ask me how it feels to be single but still help out with gifts for dates.

"Because it's cool, " he answered.
"You think you're cool? "
"Want me to show you how? " He asked, grinning.
That sure wasn't going to go well with me.
Before I could even say anything, he had turned to now facing me completely.
Cornered.
He chuckled before starting to tickle me.
Why was I ticklish?
I laughed so hard and loud, all the while pleading him to stop.
For the first two pleas, he didn't. But he eventually stopped at the third one.
I was in a laying position, so I stayed there for about two minutes to catch my breath, all he did was just to laugh at me.
"That wasn't cool, '' I said, straightening myself to a sitting position.
"I may decide to go again," he threatened.
"No thanks, am satisfied, " I answered.
"Pleasure's all mine, " he proudly said.
"Hey, can I lie on your lap?" I asked, wondering where the courage came from.
"Sure, " he answered stretching out his legs.
I slowly adjusted my head onto his lap, making myself comfortable. I had my face to the water.
"Hey, look at me, " he said turning my head around.
I covered my face with my hands," I can't, " I said.
"Shy? "
I simply nodded my head not taking off my hands.
I heard him take both my hands into his, so I closed my eyes.
"Linn," he called.
"Yes, " I mumbled out.
"I like you. "
