~~~~Saoirse~~~~
I stood in my cockpit, staring at the powerless Command ship and ready to face Zarkon once and for all.
"We've gotta act fast." Shiro said, "The power will only be down for 20 minutes. The Blade of Marmora's schematics showed four targets we need to hit. The weapons systems, the engines, the bridge, and the shield generators. Now, let's put an end to Zarkon, once and for all."
All of us shouted in agreement and formed the sword, flying over to the weapon systems to take them out first. We stuck our blade into ship and began slicing it through the metal upwards. We pulled back out and flew away before going back in for the attack.
"Hit the engine systems!" Shiro shouted.
We did as told and rushed back towards the ship.
Voltron raised its sword and aimed for the engines. We smashed the sword hard enough into the ship and created a crater as the ship's engines exploded on impact.
We continued cutting through the ship, hitting all the vital points of the command ship. But just then, my scar began to burn again as another part of the ship exploded.
I pressed my fingers to my neck and felt the heat radiating from my old wound. It burned painfully and now I could physically feel the heat from it. I shook my head and pushed the pain down, directing my full attention towards the battle.
We flew away from the ship, thrusting the Green Lion forward. The lion opened its mouth, firing a powerful and destructive laser at the ship. The laser found its mark and struck near another one of the engines.
As we continued to lay waste to the ship, I couldn't help but not ignore the pain I felt from my scar. I didn't understand why it hurt so much. It has never felt like this before.
"Stay focused. We've neutralized the engines. Let's target the bridge." Shiro said. I followed his advice and focused back on the battle.
We were about to hit the bridge, when I felt my heart stop for a moment. An overwhelming feeling of fear and dread filled my body, forcing me to the floor trying to catch my breath, but all that came out was strangled screams.
"Saoirse, are you okay? What's happening to you?" Keith asked, his face appearing on my screens.
"Something's.... Something's wrong! We need to be careful!"
I struggled to take in air for a minute or two, but I gasped loudly when I was finally able to take a single deep breath. I grasped onto the handles still in my hands tightly, trying to stand back on my feet again.
The pain was now numb. It still hurt badly, but it was slightly tolerable. I was able to handle it for a while more. But then, my scanners picked up something underneath us.
"Guys, something's happening below us." I said.
The pillars below the Galra ship began to radiate some sort of energy. A large purple portal opened beneath us. Voltron stopped flying away and we all stared down the dark portal.
"What is that?" Lance asked just as shocked and confused as the rest of us.
"It's nothing good." I said, my voice shaking, as I looked dowm into this dark portal. The more I looked at it, the more terrified I became, and the more my body shook in pure terror.
"Everyone we need to get out of here, now! This thing, whatever it is, is bad!" I shouted.
All of a sudden, black lightning shot from the portal, targeting us.
