I stood behind Lance while Pidge and Saoirse sat in the back. Once in a while I would glance at Saoirse, who was unconsciously rubbing the scar around her neck.
The boy she mentioned, the one she said felt familiar, I wonder who he is. If we can find any trace of Saoirse's family, I think it would benefit her and us learning more about her past.
"Saoirse, does it still hurt?" Pidge asked gesturing to her injured arm.
Saoirse snapped out of her thoughts and smiled, "No, no. It's all right. I barely feel it."
That was her answer everything she was actually in pain. And with that smile of her's, you can never really tell whether she's lying or not.
"Saoirse, are you sure you're all right?" I asked, concern visible in my eyes.
She looked up at me, keeping the smile on her face.
"I said I'm fine. Don't worry so much." She said. Suddenly, Slav slithered his way around me and stood in front of my sister.
"Hmm, interesting." He said staring at Saoirse with a calculating gaze, "You are an Angel, are you not?"
We were all confused, but not really surprised by the title he called her by. Everyone we've met has called her Angel, but we never figured out the reason.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Saoirse answered, "Everyone calls me that, but I'm human."
Slav slumped, "Oh, no, that can't be true. The probability of a human having eyes with that color of irises in any reality is less than 0.0000000004856284 percent. Especially in this reality. You must be an Angel, unless those eyes are fake."
I growled and grabbed Slav by the collar, glaring straight into his eyes.
"Stop harassing my sister, or I won't hold back." I seethed.
"Takashi Shirogane!" Saoirse shouted, "Kare ni shinsetsu ni."
I was shocked, it's been a while since I've heard her speak to me in Japanese. I had just assumed she forgot since the last time she spoke it was when she was studying the language.
She looked at me seriously, her eyes narrowed and her lips creased in a disapproving frown.
"Why should I be nice to him?" I asked.
"Because he's helping us and even though he's a bit annoying, we need his intelligence to help with the teludav." She reasoned. I sighed, letting Slav go and leaning back against the wall with my arms crossed over my chest.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Saoirse says something to Shiro and he goes quiet? Saoirse what did you say?" Lance asked from the pilot seat.
"Wait, you spoke Japanese didn't you, Saoirse?" Pidge asked.
Saoirse smiled and nodded, "I thought it would be good to learn another language when I was younger, and after Shiro adopted me, he would sometimes let his Japanese nature come through. I became interested and learned Japanese."
"Wow, that's pretty cool." Pidge said.
I smiled, enjoying the fact that Saoirse was happy. When she spoke about me adopting her, my mind went back to the first time I met her, and the time we spent together at the Garrison. I felt a connection with her, and soon took into my home as my younger sister.
Just then, Saoirse gasped. Worried I turned back towards her, and saw that she was rubbing her scar again.
"Saoirse, what's the matter?" I asked.
