I was sitting in class with Keith next to me, sitting in a desk to my left. I had always with him, even though I was already accepted into the Galaxy Garrison, the best school for future astro-explorers in the world. I had graduated high school a couple of months ago, early with the highest grades in class, but teachers have allowed me to stay with Keith.

After all, according to them, I'm the only one who could keep Keith in line.

"I've brought a special guest along with me today." The principal herself said in front of our class, happy to introduce a familiar face, "I'm sure you all recognize him. He's the youngest pilot ever to lead a mission into space, Takashi Shirogane!"

The entire class erupted in applause, with more than a few gasps of amazement. I had seen Mr. Shirogane a few times during my many tours of the Galaxy Garrison grounds. But mostly he was in a conversation with others.

"Thanks for having me." Shirogane said grateful for the warm welcome.

I looked over at Keith while the Principal was explaining Shiro's latest achievement, a broken record for the fastest orbital velocity. Keith was uninterested in Shirogane, simply staring out the window.

"The Galaxy Garrison has sent me tk schools in the area to help find the next generation of astroexplorers. Who's ready to find out if they've got what it takes?" My thoughts were interrupted by several of the kids yelling and raising their hands.

"All right, all right." Shirogane calmed the class down, "To do that, we're going to give you a test." The students groaned, "By playing a video game."

The students cheered again and ran out the classroom and out to the front of the school.

I stood up calmly from my seat and tapped Keith on the shoulder. He looked at me and I simply tilted my head towards the door a silent way of me telling him that we needed to go.

He reluctantly stood up, grabbed my hand and we followed the students outside.

When we got outside with the rest of the class, Shirogane was standing in front of a piece of mobile training equipment. I was well aware of what it was.

"Introducing the Orbit Axiom X, the Galaxy Garrison's most advanced flight simulator." Shirogane introduced the machine, "Cadets, not much older than you use simulators just like this to train to become the next generation of space explorers. Now, let's see what you've got."

Keith, still uninterested, sat down on the curb. I followed him since I had already completed this simulator.

"You're going to show off?" Keith asked.

"Why should I?" I replied, "I've already passed this test. Plus, I feel like you would do well."

Keith scoffed, "Yeah right. Imagine me, in a cadet uniform."

I smiled and leaned against him, Keith's shoulder holding me up.

"I think you would do well. Don't doubt yourself so much." I said.

One by one, all of the kids in the class went through the simulator, but none made it very far.
