I gripped my control handles tightly, ready for Lotor to make a move. We floated there in space, waiting for a sign of movement, the anxiety killing all of us.

"Coran, you've got incoming." Keith said. I felt Shiro's clone's energy float through space as it was launched in a portalable pod to the Castle.

The new dark Voltron stood in front of us, not making a single move. Suddenly, I felt my chest and stomach sting. I let go of one of my control handles and cltuched my stomach out of instinct. I felt something warm on my palm, I pulled my hand away and saw blood covering my fingers.

My breath hitched. My stitches must've been pulled a little. But I couldn't bother with that right now. I had to help the others with Lotor.

Just then, Lotor made the first move. He swung his arm back and created an orb of pure energy before throwing it at us in a blast of light.

"Shield!" Keith shouted, and the shield was created, blocking the attack. The blast was powerful, pushing us back and making us feel the pain Voltron felt. I gasped at the sudden shock from the damage.

"Hunk, form cannon."

"You got it!" Hunk inserted his bayard into its slot and formed the cannon on our shoulder. The cannon charged and fired a powerful blast at Lotor, almost hitting him.

At the last second, Lotor flew away, dodging the attack with incredible speed. With it cannon still firing, we followed Lotor's moves, but he was too fast to catch.

He activated his thrusters and flew even faster through space, our attacks still not making even a scratch not matter how much power we gave Voltron.

"He's too fast!" Lance shouted.

"Then we'll have to get in close. Form sword!" Keith shouted, as the sword was formed.

Lotor's machine placed its hand on its sides and created a flash of light. He raised the arms above the head and two swords formed from the light, glowing a deadly purple color.

He forced the machine forward and went in for the attack. We pulled up our own sword and blocked the deadly blades, our contact creating a loud boom of the conflicting energies. Lotor pushed us back again, I could feel his flame growing darker, colder and stronger as every second passed.

"Now we will see how Alfor's legacy stands against the new Altean defender." Lotor shouted, his voice low, dark and full of corruption.

He pushed hard and swung his blades, to which we blocked and tried to strike back. Lotor swung again and kicked us to the side. We spun around in space before finally stabilizing again. Dizziness took hold of me as we steadied, but then, I saw Lotor's mech fly towards us.

"Guys, we gotta move!" I shouted seeing him come closer.

We dodged, with me pushing power into Voltron, and Lotor sliced the asteroid behind us. The asteroid shone intensely and broke into pieces, leaving barely any remains of the asteroid.

My heart jumped and my breath stilled for a moment by the sudden explosion of energy. This was too much for a aingle person to contain. It wouldn't end well for either of us.

Lotor quickly jumped back into the fight. We turned and faced him, but when we did turn around, we didn't see him.

I turned around my cockpit, and noticed Lotor sneak up behind us.

"He's behind us!" I shouted.

Voltron quickly turned around and blocked the attack. The swords clashed again and again while the battle pushed us back further into space. I felt sweat dripping from my forehead, to conserve as much energy as I could, I released my human disguise and let my Teshirian and Altean form come to light.
