Outnumbered | Jake Brockman X Reader

Life was good

Chelsea POV:

I couldn't hide it anymore. A teacher was doing a toilet patrol while I was skipping double maths sometime in June.

I didn't realise that they actually did that. Having been a regular bunker for the past three months, they'd never done it before. But they'd definitely started now.

*flashback*

I was sitting in the usual corner toilet. I wouldn't normally cry at school, but this time I was. Maybe it was because nobody was in there. Until the teacher came in.

I heard the door open and some really clunky shoes were walking around. I knew that this was a teacher. I stuffed my fist in my mouth to get myself to stop making so much noise.

The teacher kept walking around before coming to a stop just outside my cubicle. I had to come out now because this was the only one with the door closed and locked.

I sniffed and eventually opened the door.

It was my form tuter.

"Chelsea, what's wrong?"

I never knew a teacher could actually be nice lol.

*flashback over*

So I told her. And that's why I am now sitting in the head teachers office. The same headteacher who is currently ringing my mum.

"Your mums coming over to the school now so we can sort this out," he said after putting the phone down.

I sighed and looked at the ceiling.

"You have a sister too, don't you?"

I nodded.

"And is she.."

I nodded again.

About half hour later, my mum came.

"Sorry I'm late, I had to come from my workplace," she said. "What has she done now?"

The headteacher looked at me and then back at my mum.

"There seems to be some problems... at home," he said.

Later that day, I went straight up to my room. Mum tried to come in to talk to me but I pushed her out my door.

If you want to know what happened, basically dad lost his job a while back, just like I told Jake.

He coped with it in the completely wrong way, and took to drinking and he became an alcoholic, like I also told Jake.

But what I didn't tell Jake was that our dad ... beats me and Paige. For absolutely no reason whatsoever. I couldn't tell Jake. I couldn't tell anyone until today. Otherwise it just wouldn't stop.

Would this even make a difference now everything was out in the open?

Would dad still beat us?

Would mum actually do anything to stop it?

Something was bound to happen, wether it was good or bad.

The next day, which luckily was a Saturday, had a few surprises.

I woke up to a lot of shouting. I went downstairs to find mum and dad arguing about a divorce.

Yessss

Then, Paige came down too.

"What's going on?" She asked.

"Mum and dad are getting a divorce," I said casually.

"What?" She started panicking. Then she started crying. Why was she so sad? Anyway, I wasn't going to stick around to find out. I went straight back into my room. To get more sleep. After all, it was only half six in the bloody morning.

At school, I decided to tell Jake. Afterwords, he hugged me. Just like I did when I found out he was bullied.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"Yeah, their getting a divorce, so," I said.

Just then, Emily and Rebecca came over. Emily looked at Jake then spoke to me.

"I heard my mum speaking to yours on the phone," she said. "Why are your parents getting a divorce?"

So then I told them both what happened too.

It's been a hard few months for me and Paige, but I'm glad to have my friends with me.

Good news, emily apologised too Jake and their sort of friends now. Rebecca said she never actually had a problem with Jake and was just copying Emily.

Anyways, life is good. For now.

A/N so yeah these first few chapters have been quite crap I'll admit. I'll try to make the next lot not as crap, but thanks for reading!

Are you glad that you finally know Chelsea's secret? Some of you would have probably worked it out yourselves because my suspense writing is crap. :(

I have a few more chapters based on series one then we'll get onto series 2!
