Jake didn't know what to do. Ever since he had embarrassed himself, he never wanted to see Chelsea again. Well he did, but he didn't want to speak to her. His life was made very miserable as Ben didn't want to let him forget what had happened a few nights previously."Jake wants to kiss Chelsea! Jake wants to kiss Chelsea!" He chanted before school one morning.
"Oh shut up Ben!"
"Jake wants to kiss Chelsea! Jake wants to sex Chelsea!"
"Ben! What have I told you about saying that word?!" Sue shouted from the kitchen. "Keys, keys, where's my keys..." she muttered.
"What do you mean, Jake wants to sex Chelsea?" Karen asked when she came down the stairs.
"KAREN!" Sue yelled.
"The other night when you were at the hospital, which I still think is unfair that it wasn't me, Jake said he wanted to kiss Chelsea," Ben explained.
"Shut up Ben! I said I DIDN'T want to kiss Chelsea!" Jake was getting increasingly annoyed with his younger brother.
"Yeah but you meant you did want to kiss her," Ben said.
Jake rolled his eyes just as Sue came out of the kitchen.
"Right, is everyone ready? Karen! Where are your shoes?"
"I don't know,"
"Oh for gods sake! Go and look for the upstairs. Ben tuck your shirt in! How many times have I told you to do that this morning?"
Ben frowned and tucked his shirt in.
"I still can't find them!" Karen shouted down the stairs.
"Oh for g-"
"I've got them!"
Sue sighed. Having three kids was extremely tough sometimes. Oh who was she kidding? It was tough all the time.
When Jake had got to school, the first thing he noticed was Chelsea and Rebecca standing by the gate. Normally he would have gone to them, but not today. He doubted he would ever do that again. He had lost his best friend over something ridiculous because of his younger brother.
As he walked past, Chelsea looked at him and then turned back to Rebecca. It all seemed to happen in slo motion, like in movies where two girls fall out and they pass each other in the hallways.
His day was absolute torture. All that was in his head was Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea. Of cource he had other friends, boys too, so you'd think he would ask them for advice. It turns out they don't have younger brothers that ruin everything for them. So he decided he would be alone all day. Just like he did in year 7 before he met Chelsea.
However, Chelsea's side of the story was completely different. Of cource she had told Rebecca, who then went on to say "I told you so," to which Chelsea ignored. Chelsea had figured out by that time what her feelings where for Jake. It had started around the middle of year 8 but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. Until now. She had realised that everything she had felt, the jealousy of Jake hanging around with Jo, also a few weeks earlier when she thought he possibly liked Kelly, and the weird feeling in her stomach when she was simple near him. She was in love with Jake Brockman.
She knew that Jake wasn't just stating the fact that he didn't want to kiss her. That would have been completely out of nowhere. Although she still felt awkward every time she saw him. She knew that Jake wouldn't want to talk to her for a while, that was understandable. But she did want to talk to him desperately. Nothing in particular, she just wanted to talk.
