The Date

That weekend, Chelsea was ecstatic. She had never been on a date before, so you could emagine her excitement. But then she had a thought. Jake was her best friend. If things ended on a really bad note, then what would happen to their friendship? No Chelsea, you can't think like that. Think positive! She thought.

Jake had picked her up at half eleven and the two of them went to the cinema to watch (Y/F/M). As far as Chelsea's mother, Kimberly, knew, Chelsea was just hanging at Jake's house like usual. She had no idea of the date, however Sue and Pete found out.

*Flashback* (Jake PoV)

Chelsea had just left and Ben looked at me with a suspicious smile on his face.

"I heard everything you and Chelsea said," he said, still with that same annoying grin.

"I don't know what your talking about," I really didn't want mum and dad to find out - or anyone really. I remembered how they reacted two years ago when I was first friends with Chelsea, and they'd react even worse now.

"Jake wants to kiss Chelsea, Jake wants to kiss Chelsea..."

"BEN SHUT UP!" I shouted. Mum was only in the kitchen and I really didn't want her to hear.

"Jake and Chelsea sitting in a tree. K-i-s-s-i-n-g!"

"BEN THATS THE LAST TIME-"

"What's going on?" Karen was coming downstairs.

"Nothing. Absolutely nothing," I snapped heading upstairs.

"Waaait!" I turned around and groaned. Mum had come out of the kitchen.

"Mum Jake's going on a date with Chelsea," Ben said.

And that was how she found out. Her and dad were pretty cool with it though, so fortunately they let me go.

*Flashback over* (Chelsea POV)

I couldn't beleive I was actually doing this. I was on a date - but not just any date, a date with a Jake Brockman!

Get a hold of yourself Chelsea, I thought. Don't get too excited, this movie might be crap.

About half an hour into the movie, Jake put his arm around me. I got goosebumps at first, but then snuggled up to him.

(Jake POV)

After the movie, which was fantastic, we had to move from our current position, which was Chelsea's head on my shoulder and the rest of her leaning on my side, but in a comfortable way. I also had my arm around her. I really didn't want to move, but it was a public place and mum was coming to pick us up in about twenty minutes.

We went to get ice cream to pass time by. I had vanilla and Chelsea had (y/f/f). We were just finishing up when mums car came. Now was the awkward part. She was going to embarrass me infront of Chelsea like she always does. Chelsea claims that she doesn't mind, but I'm pretty sure she does a tiny bit.

Luckily for us she didn't say a word, apart from when we got back home she borrowed me for a few minutes in the kitchen to ask me about it. Really though, it's none of her buisness. I told Chelsea to meet me up in my room.

"So how was it?" Mum asked after I had sat down at the table. I sighed. I get that she's trying to take an interest in my life but she's finding it way too interesting.

"Fine," I replied shortly.

"Just 'fine?'" Mum asked. She sat down opposite me. "So, why did it take so long to-"

"Oh for God's sake mum!" I snapped and stood up. "It's really none of your buisness what I did on my date, just stop interfering with my life!" And with that I went upstairs to Chelsea.

I think I may have been a little too hard on her, but how else was she going to understand that I'm not a small child? I don't need to tell her everything that goes on in my life. If it wasn't for Ben and his big mouth, she would even know we had been on a date.

If Ben hadnt open his big mouth, we wouldn't have gone on a date I realised. Wow, for once stupid kid had a purpose.

When I got to my room, I noticed Karen had got in there.

"Karen! Get out and stop bugging Chelsea!"

She turned around and put a completely innocent face on like she always did.

"I was just showing her my drawing,"

"It's fine-" Chelsea started but I could see in her eyes that she didn't want to look at Karen's drawing.

"No, it's not. Karen she doesn't want to look at your drawing of a cow killing a human,"

Karen walked away but then we got Ben. "Where's the cow killing the human?" He asked excitedly.

"Downstairs on the TV," Chelsea said.

Luckily he fell for it and ran off downstairs. We both started laughing. Chelsea looked really cute when she laughed. Every other time I had thought the previously it had felt wrong, but seeing as we had just been on a date, I figured it wasn't so wrong to think that anymore.

After a while of just talking and bursting out laughing randomly every so often like best friends do, I decided to do something I'd wanted to do for a long time. I waited until she was looking at me properly and then i kissed her.

A/N Yeah sorry you don't get to find out if Chelsea liked it or not because I'm evil heh heh.

Anyway, I hope you liked their date and I'll see you in the next chapter!
