I was once again at Jake's house but Karen and Sue weren't there, as Karen had a performance that evening where she was playing the triangle.

Well they were at the performance, until we found out that Karen had been knocked down by a car. Jake answered the call from Sue, but Pete wouldn't stop worrying, even when Jake specifically told him, "But she says everything's ok, don't worry, stay calm and she'll ring in a little bit,"

He got Kelly to look after us and set off to the hospital in which Karen and Sue were currently at.

"Ok kids, what shall we watch?" Kids? I don't like being called a kid.

"Kelly, can I ask you a question?" Jake got irritated at this and tried to prevent whatever weird thing Ben was about to say but failed. "Did you know that sometimes when men and women kiss, they sometimes put their tounges in each other's mouth?"

I snorted. I wonder how he found that out?

"Kelly, you know when your waitressing at that shop where you waitress in, well when somebody is rude to you or annoys you, do you gob in their food?"

Jake was getting super annoyed now, so he changed the subject.

"She's doing her PhD. She's a psychologist,"

3rd Person POV
Ben continued asking Kelly questions while Jake just sat there extremely embarrassed. However, Chelsea found the whole thing rather funny.

"I specialise in child psychology," Kelly stated. "You know, how children think and behave,"

"But you can't tell for sure what they're thinking? I mean, you can tell what I'm thinking right now, can you?" Jake asked.

"No. But I could make an educated guess based on the things you say, and you'd be amazed at how easily you can tell what someone's thinking based from their body language. Especially their hands,"

"Oh," Jake mumbled, moving has hands under his legs so Kelly had no idea for sure what he was thinking right now.

No, it wasn't the fact that he had a massive crush on his older neighbour. Although everyone, including his parents thought that was the case, he really didn't.

He actually didn't want Kelly to know that the massive crush he had was on his best friend.

"Drag me to hell!" Kelly said. Chelsea looked at Kelly in horror. She thought she had been possessed. "Oh it's a 15. You can't watch that, can you Ben?"

"No, but neither can Jake or Chelsea. They're 13,"

Kelly looked at Jake. "I thought you said you were 16," then she looked at Chelsea. "And you said you were 15,"

"No.. I said I'd be sixteen..... eventually," Jake said.

"Yeah.." Chelsea agreed quietly.

Chelsea had wanted to be treated like an adult for once, so she told Kelly she was 15. She thought that those two years made a massive difference with the way people treated you. Jake didn't know why he lied to Kelly about his age. It could have been the same reason as Chelsea, but he really didn't know.

"Ok, here's another question for you," Ben said.

"Not another one. It's way past your bedtime," Jake complained.

"If our personality is made up from our genes and our environment, then are we really to blame for what we do?"

"Well, that's actually a really brilliant question Ben," Kelly exclaimed. She started to explain about how neuroscientists are starting to questions whether a free will really existed or not.
