Boxing Day.

-time skip-

2 years later, Jake and I were still going strong. Even though we'd had to be apart for almost the entire time we'd been at university, we'd still found our was round it. Most of the time we would Skype, but other times I would drive all the way to him, or we'd meet up during the holidays back in Chiswick. Christmas 2016 was one of those times.

I was glad to be back home because I couldn't stand being away from my favourite people - Paige, Emily, Rebecca, my mother and especially Jake.

Over the week I had been spending time with them but Boxing Day I was spending with the Brockmans. We were going to spread Franks ashes in the place he asked Sue. Yes, sadly Frank had died while I was away.

Pete had come up with the amazing idea of Ben driving there. Absolutely spiffin idea. I mean, we only crashed onto the back of someone else, so no harm done right?

Letting Ben drive was just an accident waiting to happen. When I first met him nine years ago, he was the most chaotic 7 year old boy I'd ever met and over the years, even though he'd matured, he was still the same old chaotic boy.

"Why don't we let Ben drive?" Sue said, walking around the car. "It's a quiet road. What could happen?"

She was getting a little paranoid because all she wanted to do was spread her fathers ashes, but this stupid car crash got in the way.

Karen was standing by the side of car on Instagram - probably finding the whole car crash situation funny. Sue was worried about the woman that Ben had crashed into, as she still hadn't come out of her car yet. Pete was insisting that the accident wasn't Ben's fault when Karen started laughing.

"Zosha has this face swapping app and she's face-swapped with Delilah's cat,"

I sighed and went into the car to try and sort everything out.

"Is that some of him?" I asked Sue, who had just joined me. I was talking about Frank, but I didn't want to say his name in case it upset her even more than she already was.

"Oh, maybe. Oh no, hang on. That's just some crumbs from those Hobnobs," she then left again to argue with Pete.

Eventually we figured out what we would do. We went to a nearby pub and the lady Ben had crashed into also came. It turned out she was disabled.

I sat with Jake and Pete while Ben and Karen sat at another table on their phones. Sue had decided she was going to harass the disabled lady by asking her if she wanted anything every two seconds.

Suddenly, my phone rang. "What do you want?" I snapped after realising it was Paige.

"Um you know that extra homework I got from Pshe, I'm stuck on it," she said.

"I still don't get why you even asked for extra homework. What is it?"

"I need to write about um, reproduction in humans,"

I groaned and hung up. No, I was not going to tell Paige any of that.

A few hours later, we were still in the pub. I didn't really know what was going on but I did know that Karen was suspecting that Jill, the disabled lady, was a fraud. Ben was on his phone either playing clash of clans or messaging Rebecca. Not my friend Rebecca obviously, that would be weird. But there was this girl who he used to hang around all the time especially when I had first met the Brockmans. She lived next door to them, and then she went away to boarding school. She came last year and everybody thinks they're dating, but we don't know for sure. The only person who might know would be Karen.

Sitting in the pub for hours wasn't my ideal choice for Boxing Day. Normally I would be sorting my new stuff out, deciding which things I could get rid of and which ones I would actually keep. A few years ago, when Paige was still a cute 8 year old, she would make me play with her new toys. I used to hate it, but now she's 15 and spends all day on her phone. I knew I sounded like an old lady when I said I wished she was younger again. I just wish she was still annoying me all day, she doesn't talk any more.

I noticed Karen was FaceTiming her friends, Paige was probably one of them. I'm glad after all this time they've managed to remain friends. Both of them had a hard time at primary school because they got caught up in that Tanya's gang. The problem was, when they started secondary school they went to different ones. Paige went to the same that Jake and I did, and the same one Ben goes to. Karen, however, went to a different school because she was really clever. She didn't make that many friends until her second year. Paige was quite popular as soon as she started, so the two drifted away a little. I'm guessing they worked it out because they are still great friends.

Eventually we managed to get out of the pub. I had fallen asleep for a while. We had to now go into the forest and let sue scatter franks ashes. It didn't go as expected, because there were these wannabe nazis who were hesitant to let us pass.

They gave us a few minutes to get to the bench, but Angela wanted to see the scattering in action, so I had to record it. Well, I didn't have to, but I offered to. But the nazis came back halfway through.

Everything turned out alright in the end, like it always does with the brockmans. Ha, sarcasm.

Hi it's an authors note.

Um so happy birthday this book, it's been 3 months since I started it and it's already on 3k. The problem is, I haven't watched outnumbered for a while and I'm not really motivated to update anymore so that's why I haven't posted for almost a month. I'd like to know if anyone really wants me to carry on. Like, if your life depended on it I would honestly try to update, I just feel like I am lacking some skills. I might start writing another book that I will find more interesting for the time being and develop more writing skills.

If I do decide to take a big break on this, I promise I will never actually STOP writing it. I will come back eventually.

I noticed my views are going down so I had to update this. I'll probably rewrite this whole chapter because I think it's quite crap but it'll do for now😔

Anyways I'll update you on what I decide to do with this book. Peace✌🏽
