As you can tell I'm rubbish at thinking of names for chapters.
The next day at school after going to the Brockmans was... interesting.
I was standing by the wall with Emily and Rebecca when they started giggling.
"What's so funny?" I asked. Weird because I hadn't told a joke today.
"Brockmans looking at you," Emily said.
"Again," Rebecca added.
I turned around to face Jake's chair. I felt deja vu because this felt like a few weeks ago when this happened. Only this time, he didn't look away. He seemed to be in a trance. I turned back to my friends who were laughing their heads off.
"Oh, shut up," I said and dragged them our desk.
I didn't tell them about last night and they weren't going to find out, either. They would only tease me for the rest of my life.
At the end of the day after school, I saw Jake walking home. I ran up to him and started walking with him.
"Hi Jake," I said, making him look up.
"Uh, hi," he replied.
"Do you mind if I walk with you? I may as well because were obviously going the same way,"
"Sure,"
We walked the rest of the way in silence, but I wasn't sure if it was an awkward one or not.
When we got to his house, he stopped at the gate to say bye to me.
"See you, Chelsea," he said.
"Bye Jake," I said.
I checked the road then bolted across it then. When I reached my house, I grabbed a bucket and stood on it so I could climb up into my bedroom window. I know it's a weird way to enter a house, but it's way more fun and it's safer if I do it that way.
When I climbed in through the window and landed on the floor, a figure in my room jumped up. I looked up at my little sister who just sniffed. Mum must have already picked her up.
"What're you doing in here?" I ask.
"Why did you climb through the window?" She whispered.
"Because I did. Are you illl?" I ask as she sniffs again.
"I have a cold," she replies.
"So get the hell out then I don't want your gross diseases," I hiss.
She sniffed again then stormed out slamming the door behind her. For a six year old she's got some nerve.
I put in my earphones and started to listen to music on my iPod shuffle. I was excited because now was October, and the first iPhone was coming out next month. Grandad said he would buy it for me the day it came out.
At 8:20 mum left the house for her night shift. She works in a 24 hour Tesco petrol station.
About an hour later, my head was throbbing. I walked up the stairs and when I got to my door I heard muffled crying. I stuck my head in and saw her watching a sad dog video on my computer.
"What're you doing?" I hissed.
"I felt like crying so-"
"Go to sleep it's late and I have a headache,"
So she left and as she did so she walked funny with her hands moving about. She does that when she's angry. Wow.
I sat down again in my corner for the second night in a row. This was bad. I just hoped I could sort it out soon.
