I am absolutely disgusted.

My 16 year old cousin Victoria came over last weekend. It was the first time I'd seen her for a while so naturally I wanted to stay and chat rather than going upstairs with Jake. But now, I don't think I ever want to speak to her again.

Shes a pole dancer.

Not only a pole dancer, but a pole dancer pretending to be nineteen years old!

I was pretty sure that was illegal. The funny thing is, I used to really look up to her when I was younger, because she was older by an entire year. She'd done everything I was about to do and we were like best friends - no, sisters. (Well, cousins but close enough.)

But now, I just.. did she expect me to become a pole dancer? I hope not. She's lucky I didn't tell anyone, otherwise she'd be in MAJOR trouble.

*********
Jake and I were doing our homework in the corner of the Brockman living room. I was a bit distracted because Angela had turned up with Misty, her step daughter. She kept sniffing every two seconds.

Pete offered them drinks (to which Misty declined because she suffered from personal gas) and tried to strike up a casual conversation which almost ended up an argument. Luckily, Jake stepped in and prevented it.

"So auntie, hows things?"

"Oh, terrific thanks Jake," she replied. "I've become a writer,"

"A writer?" Pete repeated.

"I've wrote this book they want to publish and I'm meeting an editor in London... and Misty wanted to see Europe so..."

At that moment, Karen came into the room and noticed Angela. "Oh Jesus," she said.

"Hi Karen! This is misty... is mummy with you?"

"I ran ahead. Does she know you're here?"

"It's a surprise,"

"Yes, but it won't be a nice surprise. You'll just fight,"

"Don't be silly, we won't fight!"

"Yes you will. I'm going to my room, call me when it's over," and with that she did a 180 and ran upstairs. I giggled quietly.

Pete then tried to start up a conversation, as there was a very awkward tension after Karen had left the room. "So this book... is it a novel?"

"No Pete, its it's a self-help book... it gives advice on surviving families,"

I snorted, making everyone looked at me weirdly. "Uhh.. just clearing my throat.."

How could Angela write advice on families? I wondered.

"So it's you... giving advice about families to other people," Pete asked, obviously thinking the same thing as me.

"I finally understood that my pain was a gift,"

Ooookay... I thought.

"Hiya!" I heard from the door. Ah, sue was home. In approximately 7 seconds she would find out that Angela was here, and I was not sticking around for that. I packed up my stuff, said goodbye to Jake (who clearly wanted to go as well) and ran for it.

"Hi Sue bye Sue," I said on my way out.

Jake POV:
After Chelsea left I decided to go up to my room. I squeezed past mum and dad in the hallway. "No violence now, mum," I warned her.

I went up to do my maths homework for a while, before mum banged on my door.

"I'm doing my homework!"
