A year had passed.

A year full of unexpected events and unimaginable happenings. Things turned towards the unknown. A year full of conflict, loss, grief, and regrets.

But the time made me strong. It made who I am today --- resilient, unsullied, and firm. Last year was indeed sad, but it gave us new reasons to begin and continue to live life to the fullest.

When I visited the mortal realm last month, everything and everyone is settled well. There were already no vampires causing harm and terror. My only friend, Cathy Santiago, is doing her best to be the best on the job trainee of her batch. I'm happy that her vision of life is clearer now. I visited my mother's grave too, and told her everything she needs to know. I also silently visited the few fellows I've been with, and felt satisfied how they love their better new lives now.

Even the kingdom that I now consider home turned a new leaf, with its new king, new laws, and new everything.

Yes, I am a mother now. Vampire's pregnancy is quite different from normal humans. It only took us 2-3 months to give birth. The process is unimaginably fast. And right now, my babies are already seven months old, but their development are comparable to a five year old baby human.

Maingat kong kinarga si Clysha Cass sa aking mga bisig at hinalikan siya sa pisngi.

"What's the matter, baby?" nakangiti kong tanong sa kanya, at pinahid ang kanyang mga luha. Ang kulay ng kanyang mga mata ay asul na namana niya sa kanyang ama. Ngunit ang hulma ng kanyang mukha ay nakuha sa akin. She is so femenine, soft, and tender, and she is perfectly as she is.

The past year, I tried my best adjusting to the new things in my life. Being a vampire, a wife to a hot tempered jerk, and a mother to my mischievous children.

"Daddy and Clyvin are taking too long. What if something bad happened to them?" she asked as a worried child as she is.

Pinisil ko ang kanyang pisngi at hinalikan ang dulo ng kanyang ilong.

"Stop worrying, Clysha. Your dad is one of the strongest vampires to ever lived. Nothing bad will happen to them."

Biglang nagningning ang kanyang mga mata. Si Clysha ang pinakamalapit sa kanyang ama. Halos hindi ito humihiwalay kung nasaan man si Caldrix. And Caldrix is always spoiling our babies to the fullest which I am against sometimes.

Gusto kong lumaki ang aking mga anak sa simpleng uri ng pamumuhay. Gusto kong maranasan nila ang normal na buhay at nang sa ganoon ay matuto silang pahalagahan ang bawat biyaya ng buhay.

Ngunit si Caldrix ay palaging inaatake ng kanyang fatherly-pampering-complex, at hindi maiwasang paulanan sila ng karangyaan. Minsan ay hinahayaan ko na lang siyang gawin ang gusto niya. He has the right to be the kind of father he wanted to be.

He sacrificed a lot. He chose us over his dreams. He chose his family over the kingdom. Matagal na simula nang umalis kami sa palasyo at nanirahan sa simpleng bahay namin na nakatayo sa kaibuturan ng kagubatan.

Everything here is perfect. The forest, my husband, and my children.

Napalingon kami nang bumukas ang pinto at bumungad sa amin si Caldrix habang nasa kanang bisig niya si Clyven Gresh.

May hinanap ang aking paningin ngunit nang hindi ko mahagilap ay napataas ang aking kilay.
