I turned off my alarm then did my morning routine.

Today is the day of the basketball game that my school will be playing. The game starts around 2pm but we need to get there before 11am for the morning ceremony.

The place where the game will be taking place at a different school in town. Its a little far from our house, maybe around a 20 minute drive or so. We ate breakfast and did whatever we were doing until around 9am we all started getting ready.

I took a shower and once I was done, I dressed up in a t-shirt that has my school name and logo on, dark washed jeans and then a red flanel. I put on my white rubber shoes then grabbed a small bag and placed my phone, wallet, wipes and other stuff that I will need.

Looking at the time, I still have alot of time to spare so I decided to go to Brody's room to check up on him and maybe help talk to.

I went to Brody's bedroom door which is next to mine and knock on the door before entering.

"Hey Brody, ready for the game later?" I asked. Brody seems to just finished packing what he needs to pack then gave me a smile. "Of course I am ready." Brody said confidently.

We chatted for a bit and talked about random stuff, mainly anime until dad knocked on the door then entered.

"Hi Kids," Dad greeted us with a smile.

"Bella sweetie, I need to talk to Brody about something, he said he has something to tell me, also, your mom is calling you to the kitchen." Dad said and I nod my head then went to the kitchen.

Hmm.. I wonder what Brody needs to tell dad...

As I entered the kitchen, I saw mom starting to cook food for our lunch. "Hey mom, need help with anything?" I asked, mom turned around to see me then smiled warmly. "Yes dear, can you please prepare the lunch boxes then place some rice in them?" Mom asked then I did what she told me.

While preparing the lunch boxes and rice, I noticed what my mom was cooking, I think she is cooking.. chicken adobo? "Mom, is that chicken adobo?" I asked and mom nod her head. "Yea, its chicken adobo. Ito yun paborito ng kuya mo," she replied.

(Translation: "Yea, its chicken adobo. This is your brother's favorite.")

I suddenly remembered a while back when mom cooked this dish. My brother keeps on grabbing more and more of this dish. Im pretty sure I just didnt remember what its called.

I watched my mom place in ingredients into the pot and im pretty sure she saw me watching her. I like watching my mom cook from time to time, cooking seems interesting to me.

"Gusto mo turuan kita kung paano mag luto ng adobo?" My mom asked then I replied, "Opo."

(Translation: "Do you want me to teach you how to cook adobo?" "Yes.")

(Side note: "po and opo" are what you say to someone older to show respect. "opo" doesnt translate to "yes" but instead "yes" translates to "oo." Bella used "opo" to show respect to her mom.)

Mom smiled at me then taught me how to cook chicken adobo, and she also told me the ingredients you usually need then what she does to make it taste good. After a while, we finished cooking and packed our lunch. By the time we finished what we were doing, dad and Brody were done with their talk.

I noticed that dad seemed kinda serious as he went to the garage to prepare the car.

Hmm, did Brody say something?
