Chapter 10: Confessions

Bella's POV:

I am currently in the living room, waiting for Mateo to pick me up.

I told mom and dad about the things Mateo said that we will be doing which is going to a cafe and then biking around town. Mateo said that we could go to the cinema but we dont know the movies that are showing right now.

Im wearing a simple outfit which consists of a simple yellow blouse, dark blue jeans, brown boots and a brown sling bag. If you're wondering if im wearing makeup of not, well I am not. Im not a fan of make up, atleast for me. I like leaving my face bare rather than caking my face. Like they say, 'There is beauty in simplicity.'

Brody entered the living room and sat next to me on the couch.

"Bella, are you sure you'll be fine without me? What if something happens to you?" Brody said worriedly.

Ever since I told Brody that I'll be going out on my own, he started getting anxious and worried for my safety, even tho he, himself taught me self defense. Its nice to know that I have a protective brother, but I hate to tell him that I can be independent every now and then.

"Brody, I'll be fine, you taught me self defense and even let me kick your weak spot for practice..." I said, mentioning one of the times he was making me practice so I could lighten up his mood a bit, which thankfully worked since he's laughing a bit.

"Yeah, I mean, you do hit pretty hard so I guess you're safe." Brody said and I nod my head.

Yes! I distracted him.. atleast for now..

After a couple of minutes passed by, the doorbell suddenly rang. That must be Mateo. I stood up from the couch to open the door but dad beat me to it, opening the door.

"Hi snowfl- um.. I mean.. Good afternoon, Dave." Mateo quickly straightened his posture as he saw my dad opening the door instead of me.

Awee.. o kawaii koto.

(Translation: "how cute"... does anyone get the reference? Hehehe)

"I want my daughter back before 5:30pm. If you bring her back late, even for just a minute, I will give you a hard lecture, understand?" Dad said strictly to which Mateo quickly respond, "Yes David, I promise..."

Mom quickly went towards dad to meet Mateo. "Hi, so you're the boy who likes Bella?" Mom asked and Mateo nod his head. "Yes, my name is Mateo Summers, nice to meet you Mrs.." mom quickly cut him off politely. "Oh just call me, Anne. Nice to meet you too," mom smiled at him.

I was about to go through the door when I felt someone grab my arm, I immediately knew who it was.

"What now Brody?" I said, turning around to look at him. "Please call or text me about where you are, okay?" Brody said and I nod my head, saying bye.

I tapped my parents shoulder so I could go through the front door and they gave me space.

Once they were out of the way, a smile went on my lips as I saw Mateo, looking as handsome as ever.

"Hi snowflake.." Mateo said and I greeted him back.

His blue eyes met my brown ones and as usual, it made me wanna stare at them more.

I came back to reality when my dad tapped my shoulder. "Bella, take care okay? Tell me if Mateo hurt you in any way then me and Brody will be more than happy to beat him up." Dad said while my mom laughed a bit.

Meanwhile Mateo, looks a bit terrified now.

"Enjoy your day honey, stay safe." Mom said then pulled me to a hug. I bid them goodbye then Mateo and I walked to the sidewalk, where his bike was parked.
