Chapter 47: The Hunters and the Hunted

Vesper, Rufus and Leora all impacted the dirt echoing the same sound as Kamala, Fume and Sage stood ahead of them. The three where all exhausted from their Lunam training not to mention due to the sleeping patterns of the Telik's they'd have to do such rigorous training in the middle of the day which for Lupi is the equivalent of being up in the middle of night.

"Can someone please tell me why the fuck we gotta do this in the middle of the day?" Rufus expressed as he laid in the dirt covered in sweat.

"Well we can't keep messing with our hosts sleeping patterns for your training and putting your bodies through harsh training at a time when you're at your weakest will only see better reward when you are at your peak." Badar explained as he stood on the sidelines.

Vesper slowly sat herself up although she was still too tired to stand. " It's been two weeks of this shit and we still haven't figured out our unique Lunam Traits yet. How much longer we gonna do this?"

"We'll keep going until you learn. Need I remind you of the severity of our situation." Badar was quick to make clear to Vesper. Quickly reminding them that they had no time to waist.

"Hey look if it helps I haven't gotten good combat training like this in ages!" Fume said excitedly as the steam from her body began to simmer down.

"Yeah kicking you're asses is pretty fun. Plus you give us a run for our money." Kamala added.

"You are all very skilled fighters  I'm sure this "Lunam Trait" will come soon enough." Sage reassured.

"Either way that's enough for today. Go get yourselves some rest." Badar suggested as he too was also eager to rest as he had to stay up with them as they trained.

"YES!" They exclaimed as they all rose to their feet and instantly headed to their huts.

Leora however paused for just a moment and as did Rufus and Vesper as they looked back at Leora wondering why she had halted. "Anyone seen Agnello?"

Rufu and Vesper both thought to themselves for a moment. "Ain't he off training with Ulima again?"

Agnello and Ulima were in a specifically created hut made of earth with a small hole at the top. The hole allowed a small amount of light to peep through separating the two as they sat in front of each other.

"Focus on the light, just like you would to manipulate Lunar light. I want you to do the same with this Light from the Sun." Ulima explained as Agnello struggled to figure out how he would do such a thing.

"How's that meant to work? I'm barely able to stay awake in the da-" Agnello paused as he let out a loud yawn, before rubbing his eyes and continuing. " How are you going to expect me to control Solar light if it makes us Lupi weaker?"

"Yes but you're not just Lupi, you're Telik as well. Your specialist ability is Photokinesis which means by definition you should be able to control all forms of light. The only reason I'm guessing you haven't been able to before is because you've just been hardwired to believe Lunar light is your limit and mentality is the greatest influence over Telik abilities. Mastering the mind is key." Ulima explained as Agnello just about took it all in despite being so tired. "Just like I said before do the exact same thing you would with Lunar light, envision the construct, the movement and then push that into reality."

As Ulima spoke Agnello began to focus his vision on the small beam of light, taking into consideration everything that Ulima was saying to him.

"Don't think of the limits but be aware of them, instead focus on the possibilities and push beyond." Ulima continued to speak aiding Agnello in achieving the task set for him.
