jim's pov

today is halloween and usually, i don't like costume but pam forced me to buy one this year. i'm dressed as a firefighter, but i have to say, the costume is a bit sexy. i have a red jacket that can't close, i noticed that while putting it on this morning. if i knew i would have bought something to wear under, but i didn't and i was late to work so i didn't have time to put a shirt. now we can see my chest under the open jacket... i'm a little uncomfortable but it's fine i guess. i have some matching pants and some boots. i also brought an axe and a hat to complete the look.

pam is wearing her usual cat costume. weirdly, dwight is late... he's usually there before me and i was also late, that's really unusual... i answer the phone and do some work, trying to focus on anything else than dwight, which doesn't work. i should probably specify why, i may have a tiny giant crush on him, yes i'm gay. everybody in the office knows, but dwight is straight,or at least i think? we don't really talk about that stuff. recently i've been trying to prank him less, so we could be friends, which made pam suspicious and i had to tell her about my crush. of course she didn't judge me and was really supportive :) i dressed up today because pam told me to but also because dwight LOVES firefighters! and he always make fun of me for not dressing up at halloween.

it's almost 10:30 am when dwight come in the office, dressed as batman. he probably doesn't know, but that my favourite superhero. he goes in michael's office, probably to tell him why he's late. he comes out a couple of minutes later. he sits at his desk and open his computer. i look at him while he does the simplest things ever...

"hey dwight! where were you?" i ask him.
"why do you care?"he says
"i missed- um... i was just wondering." i say

what a dumbass! why would i say that?!

"oh uh okay, i was shopping for today's party"he says.
"oh right the party... yeah"i say before looking back at my screen.

i can feel dwight looking at me but when i look at him, he looks away. he looks so good in his costume... dwight isn't the kind of hot you'd see on social media, but he has such charisma and charm, it's hypnotizing... he probably noticed i was starting at him because i can see him blushing lightly. i look away and do some work.

lunch quickly arrive and i go to the break room to eat my usual ham and cheese sandwich, with pam. except this time, dwight sits down with us. pam looks at me with an excited smile. i look down so he can't see me blushing and smiling.

"jim i really like your costume, you look nice! i've never saw you with a costume i believe..."he says.

i blush even harder and say:

"thank you! you look nice too. pam forced me to wear one this year!"

pam chuckle and say:

"i didn't force you to look like a stripper though... you did that to yourself"

i laugh and we continue to eat in silence. when dwight is finished, he goes back to his desk.

"omg jim! dwight totally likes you too!" pam says.
"what? no he doesn't... he just said he liked my costume." i say.
"jim how can you not see the way he looks at you! i've never seen him smile except when he speaks with you, he's constantly looking at you and then looking away when you catch him. he was practically drooling when he saw you weren't wearing a shirt!" pam whisper-yell.
"that doesn't mean anything! we don't even know if he's gay!" i say
"pfff whatever you say! but i'm right and you know it"pam says before leaving the room. not letting me respond.
