pam looked at herself in the mirror. she was wearing pretty clothes, but she had made sure they weren't too revealing so roy wouldn't be mad. she always made sure she was wearing appropriate clothes so roy wouldn't think she was cheating on him. he hated it when other men looked at her.

she walked out of the room to go find roy, who was watching football in the living room, a beer in his hand as well as three other beers on the table in front of him.

"roy i'm leaving, i should be back around midnight, is it okay?" she asked as she walked in the living room, her eyes scanning the room and noticing a drunk roy and the usual mess she always had to clean out because roy wouldn't do it.

"what do you mean leaving? where are you going?" he asked dryly. he looked angry she was leaving, though he should've known since she had told him about isabelle's birthday a couple of days before.

"it's isabelle's birthday, we're going to bar remember? i told you on monday..." she said. slightly disappointed he couldn't even remember, though she wasn't surprised.

"i thought you were staying tonight! we haven't had sex in like a week, i have needs you know pam? you can't just leave all the time" he said in a louder voice as he got up from the couch, his large figure slightly intimidating pam as he walked closer to her.

"roy i told you i was leaving, we'll spend the night together tomorrow" pam said, a little bit annoyed.
"anyway i'm not staying here the whole night to have sex for two minutes" she said in an attempt to get back at him for being mean.

"you're such a bitch! fine, go out with all your whore friends and go cheat on me! that's why you're dressed like a slut i guess" he said angrily and grabbed pam's forearm. "i always do everything for you and that's how you thank me?" he snapped.

"that's it. you're drunk and you don't know what you're saying." she said and walked away from him, feeling extremely hurt by the words he had shouted at her. she knew he was in the wrong but somehow she still felt like she should apologize. "bye roy" she said and opened the door.

"if you leave now don't even fucking come back" he shouted in a slurred voice as he sat back on the couch, opening another beer. "i'm gonna tell everybody what a slut you are" he murmured loud enough so she heard it.

she stayed in the door frame for a few seconds, wondering what reason did she have to stay. "goodbye roy, i'll talk to you tomorrow. you're clearly too drunk to think straight" she said as the tears started rolling down her cheeks. she closed the door and heard him yell, or maybe break something. she got in her car, and a weird feeling of sadness and worry filled her head. that relationship wasn't healthy.

pam looked at herself in the mirror. she was wearing pretty clothes, but she had made sure they weren't too revealing so he wouldn't be mad. she always made sure she was wearing appropriate clothes so he wouldn't think she was cheating on him. the relationship was still pretty new, she didn't want to ruin it.

she took a deep breath before she grabbed her purse from the floor and passed it over her shoulder. as she was about to leave she heard the door open. her heart skipped a beat and she took a step back. she calmed down when she saw jim standing at the door.

"you scared me" she said and giggled lightly.

"i'm sorry" he said, giggling too, until he saw she was dressed up and about to leave. "you look beautiful pam"

"thank you" she said with a smile. "i'm sorry i forgot to tell you, i'm going out with my friends" she said fearfully, she didn't know if he was going to get mad.

"it's okay, i'm not your dad you don't have to ask me if you can see people" he said and smiled.

"you're not going to ask where i'm going? or with who? is what i'm wearing okay?" pam asked, surprised she wasn't going through the habitual questions roy asked him every time.

"pam, i trust you, and i already told you i think you look beautiful. why are you so worried?" he asked, confused.

"it's just that... you know, when i was with roy he didn't trust me like that, i guess...and he's kind of... scary when he's mad and i- i don't know... i'm sorry" she apologized, but she didn't know why. it was just something she was used to do when she wasn't sure if she was doing the right thing.

"don't apologize! it's okay... i'm not like him, you don't have to be scared" he said as he hugged her. she snuggled in his chest as he hold her in a comforting manner.

"i know you're not like him... thank you" she said, reassured she wasn't gonna have to relive the shitty life she left when she left roy.
