"is that dwight?" jim murmured in a slurred voice as he saw the older man sitting alone at the opposite corner of the small bar. he wasn't really sure who he was asking the question, there was no way dwight could hear it, he was more asking it to himself.

the reason it was so surprising is that the bar he was at was a...some might call it a lgbtq+ friendly bar.

okay, it was a gay bar.

jim had never thought he would see anyone from the office at this bar, where he went from time to time. except oscar, nobody from the office was gay, or at least, nobody else was out of the closet. including jim, who was not out to his coworkers.

"dwight?" he asked again, but this time dwight could actually hear him, as jim had just walked up next to him and tapped on his shoulder.

"jim?" dwight asked in a surprised- shocked expression. he looked like someone who had just been cornered, caught doing something he shouldn't have. "what are you doing here?" he said loudly, so jim could hear him even though people were practically shouting and the music was even louder.

"i could ask you the same question" jim said. he was feeling as nervous and surprised as dwight, but after five beers, he was able to hide it effortlessly.

"i asked you first" dwight mumbled, but jim didn't hear it. "i'm here to party, obviously" dwight said matter-of-factly, trying to ignore the obvious fact they both ignored about one another.

"you're here to party?" jim asked, surprised he would be one to party, and in a gay bar. this seemed really out of character for dwight. "alone, in a...gay bar?" jim added, chortling as he finally admitted they were in a gay bar.

dwight blushed at jim's statement but looked at him and shrugged. he didn't have any reason to hide it to jim, who was obviously in the same situation as him.

"you're alone too" dwight stated and jim nodded along, swaying on his feet and nervously playing with his fingers.

"came here to meet someone" jim said, the corner of his mouth curling slightly as he spoke, making his familiar "jim face" although he looked more disappointed than when he was doing it to the camera, at work. "not really successful" he said and laughed nervously.

"yeah..." dwight and hesitantly took a step closer to jim, since they were fairly distanced.
"do you come here often?" dwight asked.

"not really..." jim looked around. "i always want to dance but i don't like dancing alone, and i'm always alone here, so i don't really come here often" jim stated, his word sounding a little bit slurred as he leaned closer to dwight.

"d-do you want to dance?" dwight asked nervously, his eyebrows raising as he surprised himself with his question. dwight had drunk a little bit too much too, and the idea of dancing with jim seemed fun, to say the least.

"sure!" jim shouted, smiling widely as he playfully placed a hand on dwight's chest.

"i had fun tonight," dwight said shyly. "we should do that more often" he said as they walked out of the bar, that was closing, since it was late at night- or rather, early in the morning.

"yeah it was nice" jim said as he leaned on the building, pressing his back against the cold brick wall. "i think i'm too drunk to drive" jim said and laughed.

"me too" dwight said, chuckling. "we can call a cab" dwight proposed.

"i don't have any money anymore," jim looked up to dwight. "do you?" jim asked dwight and he shook his head no.
